Is there a difference between a Tokina 11-16 that you would buy from, say, B&H, and one that you would buy from Hong Kong on ebay (which seem to be the only ones available)?

Are the optics and warranty the same?

Thnx

Anybody have experience with the Tokina 10-17 on a 7D?

Is it radically different than the 11-16?

I just shot my first short with my 7D and the Tokina 11-16 was on the camera practically the whole time. Just enough light to shoot with just a couple of lights. I also took some pictures with the lens for my mom, a real estate agent, and I could fit most of the room in frame.

There is also the $3500 option :)

Truly, a thing of beauty.

It's in stock here: http://www.canogacamera.com/detail.aspx?ID=44947 certified Tokina dealer and a reputable store.

Also a local shop, San Jose Camera, called me this morning to let me know they got a new batch in (I got mine off b&h two weeks ago so no need). Could try to give them a call and order over the phone if you want (they're also certified) but I don't know how many they have.

RE: Filters, I've heard that thin ones work better than thick ones.

Awesome! Thanks for this link, I've been looking for this lens for a while now. This is the best price I've seen too! Just ordered one.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but could someone please explain to me what would happen if I slapped this lens onto my 5DM2? Would it even work?

Use it as my ultrawide on both my 5D and 7D, obviously only to about 14/15mm on the 5D though, really is an amazing piece of glass, as good quality as high end Canon L glass in my opinion.
