Todays Grabs and a quick question...

Ok here are some grabs from a fight scene i did today. The weird effect around the characters was NOT color corrected but rather this was shot in a very wet forest and the high water content in the air blured the bright shirts of the characters. I know its weird but thats what the tape looks like. And yes they happen to be the same position but from two different takes. And yes they are real swords. and yes they are cool.

FCP doesn't like compressed sound. You have to use an uncompressed file like .tif or .wav

The first grab is excellent the second one is to much white an too much glow. Bring it down a tad

Yea i know that. I learned that the second i pulled a mp3 into final cut. What im more curious about is why my m4a's are turning to crap when i ".aif" them. Perhaps a setting that has been switched to mono sound??????

haha, nevermind on the audio question. I figured it out. (and feel stupid) however please feel free to comment on the grabs.

Sorry, didn't mean to state the obvious. I guess I just misunderstood you last line.

how weird is this:

another non color corrected shot:

that halo is so strange. I like the look b/c it works for the story but ive never seen that before.

I like em. Adds to the feel. Getting rid of the glow would be a pain, but at least you dont have to create one if you had wanted one.

personally, kids that fight with swords in button down shirts dont appeal to me. Your scenery and shots look way to pretty to be ruined by costumes (or lack of).

kinda have to understand the story
they had suits, but took them off to fight.
and for me, there is nothing sicker than a sword fight in the woods. escpecially with pimp clothes

o yea, its a Hamlet recreation.

Maybe he is radioactive... might want to get that checked out!

I really agree with the youngsters in button downs in the woods. The scenery and props are really nice, I'd almost say get costumes even if you don't need em hehe.

I do DIG the first grab a lot though.

I'm thinking the halo effect might be from some condensation on the lens, so subtle you may not have seen it during the shoot. The moist air, in itself, would not create this anomaly on tape.

Halo effect on the video

Halo effect on the video

It hapends some times to me when I record under the sun and a little of that light hit the lens and creates that effect.

Acting like a diffusion filter or something? Wouldn't that be damaging to the camera?
