to t2i owners

You cannot CONTINUALLY shoot for say a clip of 33 minutes. It sucks as if you go and shoot a wedding ceremony that needs an hour continuous or else tyou will have gaps in the recording.

That is what editing is for, you get your audio in a h4n, that covers your gap when you have to press rec again, and then you just put b roll or close ups or something to cover it, I hope you don't put together a wedding video with one camera and one locked down shot.

What is h4n ? I shoot a wedding with only 1 (one) camera. My backup is about 20 feet from me in a camera bag with charged batteries and blank mini DV tape ready to go in case my main camera konks out with any inconceivable, unpredictable disatrous mishap.

H4n is probably the most popular external audio recorder for indie filmmakers on a budget. Its got a great pair of condenser mics and 2 XLR inputs for under $300.

You might want to ask some of these other studios how they are getting by shooting weddings with DSLRs and their recording limits.

That's like creating a little more work in post, thought about that. but no cigar. I like to minimize my baggage and my editing time. I even went as far to consider 2 Canon T21 bolted together so that when the 1st one is about to reach the 12 minute mark, I would start up the second one. Hasn't Canon ever thought about that dissability. I know what you're about to say, but I will not invest another dime on a HD video camera. Hmm. here's a question: has anyone thought of connecting an external capture device like Firestore or a similar flash recorder? Perhaps I'm asking for too much in a Photo Camera. I remebber asking for too much when I bought my first laptop with only 10GB and 32mb memory and paid well over 3grand for it. All I asked for was a larger drive of 60 GB and everyone said to buy a desktop.

I have shot a corporate training video last week with a Canon 7d on tripod with a 16GB card in it. Contracted as a one take no room for error. It was a kind of seminar of one speaker in front of a blackboard talking for about 30 minutes. The camera was set to cover just the speaker and a few of the audience. No zooming whatsoever. Pressed record and let it run. Easy job, good pay. Sat down on a chair next to the camera and waited for the class to finish, Guess what ?

Over heat?

OK ! I will post no more, untill I get hold of a no file limit size 1080P 30fps. whenever that will happen.
I wish you the best of luck in finding a solution that fits your wedding video business needs. Admittedly, the T2i doesn't do everything. At $800, it still creates some amazing imagery. By your own admission, these posts have grown tiresome.

I came to this forum in the hope of getting some answers or a hack, perhaps a fix, maybe a technical remedy, if not a workaround so that I won't sc#@ew up another job in the future. Norman just needs to wait for his ideal camera to be made, hopefully from Canon or any other camera maker that hears his call of the wild. I did read the 7D'd instruction book and it did clearly say on page 157 "After you start shooting a movie, the movie shooting will stop automatically if the file size reaches 4GB or if the movie time reaches 29 min. 59 sec. To shoot a movie again, press the (start/stop) button. (A new movie file starts being recorded.)
It was that 29 min that stuck in my head and not the 4GB issue as I had a 16GB card. Well, live and learn. Also I did try the camera at 12 minute consecutive shots and it worked fine, So, what's the issue of all those saying that the camera was limited to that file size because of heat issues ?? I had no heat issues. I recorded the full 16gb no sweat.
