Timelapse with intervalometer JJC--stopped working?

I've been experimenting with the JJC intervalometer and my GH1 and it has been awesome: test test1 test2

all of a sudden I can't get it to work!!! I have been pouring through the manual and HAVE NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED?

is anyone a ninja with this device and can offer some advice? MAYBE THE CONNECTION IS BLOWN OUT??

thanks!

Can you provide some more information? Maybe I can help as I have one of those. Is the intervalometer still displaying info? Is it beeping when you hit Start? Have you accidentally set your Delay time to something really long so that it's not triggering photos?

No matter what your settings, you should be able to press the button and immediately trigger a shutter release (if you have it turned On and haven't pressed Start). So that's kind of a first line test.

When mine wouldn't trigger the shutter, my first thought was that it wasn't plugged in all the way. Pushed firmly on the plug and still nothing. Finally unseated the plug and put it back in and it worked. May have been a speck of dirt or maybe one of the wires wasn't making a proper connection. At any rate, has worked fine since.

I've been messing around with it but nothing is working.. the camera is in M (manual) mode with the shutter set to B (bulb) and single frame mode. Maybe I stripped the connection for the input somehow?

Bummer...at least they're not too expensive. Hope that doesn't translate into poorly made. Haven't really used mine all that much so time will tell.

Have you tried taking the GH1 off of the Bulb setting and giving it a definite shutter speed? I prefer to do that rather than have the intervalometer determine the shutter speed.

Mine just stopped woring.. Very frustrating as I've just started a long-term bicycle tour and this was an integral bit of kit :-(

Can't seem to find one in the UK, will have to order one from Hong Kong/China and have it sent ahead... Grrrr!

This is ridiculous - I bought a replacement jjc intervalometer, it worked for a week and now it's broken too...

It's definitely plugged in properly, have tried fresh batteries... In both cases they seemed to sputter and get a few shots/autofocus triggers out before they stopped working completely.

VERY frustrating... Are there any alternatives available, hopefully in Europe? I would buy a genuine panasonic unit, but they don't seem to exist??

just curious, any firmware hack on this cam? GH13?
if so, could this be any influence on the breakdown of the jjc??

Thats a shame Jalad... where are you buying yours from - a US distributor or from China? I bought a unit from a US distributor and have used mine quite a bit w/o a problem. I'm wondering if there are differences between some of the distributors out there.

I checked out the pclix Gro0ve recommended... kind of steep at +140. Search the forums, but I think I remember seeing another intervalometer being sold by a German distributor thats also available.

New intervalometer has appeared on ebay - it's the Pixel TC-252. I've just received mine from Hong Kong - all good so far. There's another one on ebay that looks like a JJC clone (same features down to the 0-399 exposures)

The Pixel TC-252 has a very different interface so hopefully won't suffer from the problems the JJC seem to have.

I thought the PCLix cables for Panasonic weren't available any more. If I have any problems with this Pixel unit I'll certianly be getting a Pclix - I may even get one and keep this Pixel unit as a spare.

(to the poster above, my first two JJC intervalometers died before the GH13 firmware hack)

How is your Pixel doing? Still working fine? Is it any better in features or functions than JJC?
