TAMRON SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

How is this lens for shooting video with my 60d? I got the sigma 10-20 3.5 with no image stabilization. Your thoughts?

I have it, it is a great all-round zoom with good sharpness. I have the older version, make sure to buy the newer VC version that has image stabilization.

Cheers

I use the older non vc version, and it is my main lens for most event work.

Wish I had bought the vc version, as image stabilization is more useful than you think when it comes to video.

Nevertheless, the VC version has been rated as less sharp, but I don't think you'd notice the difference.

I bought 2 VC versions to make sure I didn't have a dud. I thought it wasn't sharp enough and didn't like the feel or construction. I have a cheap Tokina Nikon 28-70 that was sharper through a cheap Canon adapter, however the Tokina had more distortion.

Mainly I found a noticeable resolution difference between the Canon 17-55 and Tamron VC . Also either the VC or the autofocus was too noisy (can't remember which). I coughed up the money and bought the Canon and am quite happy with it. That's my 2 cents.

Great lens for the price. Could be a bit sharper and seems to have a slight orange/yellow cast comparied to my Canon and Nikons but very workable.

So the lens came today, I shot a few pics looked good. It keeps giving me a err01 , is the lens bad? my others lens gave me no problem with the camera.
