This was a great and fun shoot and learned some valuable lessons. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Background


The initial idea was to harness the main actor (Justin) behind a moving car and drag him on the gravel country road for 6 minutes while he tries to yell "Time" for those 6 minutes in one breath. He's a singer, so it can be done. But when this idea was brought up with the actress she didn't feel comfortable surfing on his belly at 30 m/hr while she rapped synonyms of the word "Time" and wearing a 50lb golden watch necklace. Her ego and image were too fragile.
The culmination of this failure to shoot an epic one shot 6 minute short turned into the short we have today - about a man who finds an injured woman on the side of the road. We (Justin and I) thought of the idea and wrote it the same day and aimed to shoot it the next day. We then realized that we needed a more courageous and open-minded actress, not one that wimps out of a simple days belly surf, so we thought of the wonderful Ms. Tong and contacted her if she'd be willing to shoot a short film the following morning. No rehearsals or prep, nothing. Of course, she agreed. She's just that kind of person.

We have one BTS shot, but it's too explicit to show. Sorry guys.

Shot on the XHA1 with the Letus and Canon lenses.

I love that there are so many "under the radar " films popping up. Welcome and good luck. I look forward to watching your film.
 
Feedback is a great and sometimes humbling thing. I remember the first movie I entered in Hero fest. It was called nine to five ninja and I learned soooo much from the feedback. The same thing happened with Stricken, and so on and so forth. Feedback and showing your work is really the reason and reward behind this festival. Any other rewards are gravy. Have fun and I am sure you will get great feedback that will help you grow as a film maker.

Unfortunately I am just a lowly actor in this piece and have not been a member of dvxuser long enough to get to vote on this fest... but I'll be watching everyone's pieces and hope to submit some of my own in the future!
