The quality of this footage made me break down and order a T2i!

Well you couldnt tell that by half of the crappy quality t2i footage floating around vimeo and youtube.

I don't get why videos like these are getting comments like "Nice footage," and "Good job." All the footage is, is sharp. Nothing about the quality of the camera is shown. Its just a guy talking on the phone, and people are saying what a great camera it is. I think many people confuse sharp with great footage.

You just contradicted yourself. Seeing that the footage is sharp DOES show something about the quality of the camera. It shows that it can produce nice images. I could understand what you mean if you meant a good narrative or quality of the work as a whole tho.

He's talking about latitude, detail (actual not perceived) all that other stuff that goes into an image.

I find YouTube is the worst place to try to judge image quailty.
Vimeo is good but still not the best place unless you are downloading the native files or good quailty mp4's which I believe will only be 720 on Vimeo.

All in all however I have to say that it did look nice to me color-wise and with good DOF.

To the avg. person (who are the people that write my checks) there are two kinds of images-good or bad. Ive never had a client come to me and say "omg theres just not enough latitude or actual detail in this image" or "the aliasing and moire at 1:35-1:37 is just unbearable to look at". A lot of people on this board would be very successful people if they took more time using cameras instead of trying to be critical about minor things that the general public really dont care about.

"Book of Days" was the clip that got me on the 550D train. Google and be amazed.

There's a ton of great 550D clips out there and while this clip is serviceable, I don't see how it jumps off the page compared to the other ones out there. Count me as confused.

Add Wondershare Streaming Video Recorder and you'll be able to see it @ your computer via VLC player or another player which may play flv files.

The lenses used there also help it out.

Thank you sir. Thank you.
