The Official "Next Fest" Idea Submission Thread

Some possible fest ideas....for consideration....

Some possible fest ideas....for consideration....

Some ideas i had for fests...hopefully they will at least be considered.

Dreamfest:
films dealing with dreams or nightmares. people having dreams, people in dreams, dreams manifesting in reality.

Herofest:
films dealing with the struggle to become a hero, the hardships or triumphs of being a hero, a hero's downfall.

Villainfest:
films dealing with the bad side of life, where the main character is not the hero, not the good guy. Showing what the other side of the spectrum is like.

Powerfest:
Films dealing with special abilities, in human powers, (ex: super strength, super speed, telekenesis, flight, ect...)

Zfest:
films dealing with those ever popular walking dead cannibals tat we all know and love, fast or slow, dead or infected.

Exquisite Corpse-fest:
each submission would be written and directed by multiple people, in a manner where the first filmmaker will begin the story, and the others will continue where he left off until it concludes.

Kingfest:
Films written in the vein of stephen king. films about the strange and unusual, the unexplained, and the worlds beyond our own.

Possessfest:
films dealing with possession, people being possessed by something (spirit, demon, angel, ect.)

Revengefest:
Films dealing with Vengence, people out for revenge, revenge coming down on someone, or even just the concept of revenge. it's pretty self explanitory.

Punishment-fest: (kinda goes with the above)
films dealing with people being punished for something they've done, or punishing someone for something they've done, maybe people suffering the punishment for their actions.
 
I think QuestFest was a great pick.

Its ambiguous enough. Anything TOO specific usually means people will be turned off. For instance, if every movie has to have "Oooh, I love pickles" as a line of dialogue.... its usually a red flag that creativity will be sacrificed somewhere down the line.
 
After QuestFest it should be Tale-Spin Fest. You have to take an old story or legend and re-tell it in a modern setting.
Someone can come up with a better name, but the idea....I like.

Why not music video fest? Several users could get together and record a song. Then on the date that the competition starts, everyone would be able to access it in MP3 form. Maybe two or three songs to give people a genre variety.

I'd really like a Music Video Fest, but it should be based around music in ones local community, find a local unsigned (or indie label) band, and do a video for them. That way there's tons of variety in the videos, it's not the same 2-3 songs over and over again.

RetroFest!

I love this idea! And it goes along with all of the bullshit remakes that keep coming out. Lol.

But seriously...old retold new = renew.
 
I think it'll be something related with suspense and thrill since halloween will be coming up since 2 yrs ago it was hallow fest then last year it was twilight fest. So I bet it will be something along the lines of that.

I just hope it's a fest where it doesn't have to be a horror or twilightish. I actually have two genres in mind for the next fest and really hoping the theme can fit the two genres I have in mind.
 
WTFest

Nothing is right. Nothing is wrong. Imagine Donnie Darko or Scanner Darkly...just a twisted pic that makes you ask yourself WTF?

Required element: One character has to say, "Double-yoo tee eff?"

Make a mockumentary or First person narrative.


Mock example: Spinal Tap / Best of Show / Borat

First Person Narrative: Cloverfield / Blair Witch

I like this one. Since the next fest will be in the time zone of Halloween, they could tie in together quite well.
 
I agree with Revenge Fest as well. It takes the Horror Genre and you can do pretty much any genre with it as well.

I like the idea of WTF fest and the required line hahaha.

Either that or comedy fest! I want to shoot a comedy. :)

I agree on revenge fest too. As Ramsaur said, it includes the horror genre, also action and more. Pretty decent variety there.
