The official "I got my AF100" thread

Got that email as i was writing an email to the rep. I knew id get mine late, like late Jan. and was told I was in second batch. But I hope im not bumped down to third batch because of this. This is my first time ordering with abelcine, still wondering if it will be my last.

I'm being told that we expecting more *end* of this month. Feel free to email or call if you wish to inquire further.

I paid in full for tax purposes. It's GP now. I've been working before the Af and I'll work after the Af.
Business is business. I'm taking mine elsewhere. No hard feelings, just moving on.

Hi Guys,

Don't worry, there are no production delays, there are only so many cameras that we can make and we will continue to ramp up. The 17th is not that far off, I wouldn't go canceling orders as you will then go to the end of the next guy's line. Be patient and just chill for a bit. I know it is hard but please take a deep breath and let the disappointment go, breath in creative thoughts, relax.

Best,

Jan

Mine got here as well. I've been slow to un-box. This is just way too fun.

Thanks again to Shawn at FullCompass! Great prices and man just really can't say how thankful for the way I've been treated as a customer. He called to make sure the package arrived and to reassure me about the back-ordered items. Just a great guy and friend.

Cheers to FullCompass and Shawn Tallard!

Yeah, Shawn called me to check on me as well but I wasn't able to talk at the time, crazy busy schedule. And too much time testing, testing, testing! :)

Did a little quick shoot with the Voightlander 25/0.95. Settings straight out of the box.

Viewed in a THX certified 50" G15 Panasonic Plasma via the SD card straight into the monitor...

And?...

Amazing camera! I am so happy and satisfied. There may be some kind of Internet gamma issue. There may be some kind of h.264 interpretation problem.

But, it is not in my camera. Did I say how happy I am?

Glad you're happy with it!

For those who complained about not getting much communication from B&H, all I can say is that they have an excellent order tracking system. You can check on order status at any time you like. I never expected an email or phone call from them. I paid up-front, in full on 11/21/10. Thanks, B&H, you make it happen without any fuss!

[Thank you for your AF100 order with Abel Cine Tech. We appreciate your business and want to keep you as well informed as possible.

We have just heard from Panasonic that there have been delays in manufacturing the camera. As a result, we don't expect to receive our next AF100's until approximately the week of the January 17th.[/I]

Sorry for the miss communication guys. This is not a delay in manufacturing the camera, just in our expected delivery date. Panasonic has done a great job getting many hundred cameras into the country already. We are trying to keep everyone up to date on their order. We will do our best to get many more camera out to you as soon as possible.

Rock on, Woody! Beautiful film; thank you for sharing!

If you can't make wonderful films with this little camera, it's a clear case of PICNIC applied to our craft: "Problem in cinematographer not in camera."

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo
