The official "I got my AF100" thread

Just got my e-mail about my pre-order. Somehow their allocation got messed up and the company I pre-ordered from, is not receiving any cameras from the first batch. Bummer!!! If I had gone with B+H, I would have had it by now. sigh....

I have been playing with the idea of using an HDMI splitter to feed a small on-camera monitor as well as a larger LCD for client preview, which keeps them from crowding around the camera. That would also keep the SDI out free for use with a recorder/monitor.

If you hook up the NanoFlash as your external recorder, it sends out both HDSDI and HDMI, so it is easy to have 2 monitors, also some SDI monitors loop the signal back out so you can run more monitors.
 
Does anyone have a lead on where I can get an AF100 today? Someone on the boards I know ended up with two but i can't find that post. A mix-up left my dealer without their original allotment and I need an AF100 to take to Sundance.

I may have to rent.

You and I went to the same dealer. They offered to flip the bill for renting an AF100 up to $600 per week until they received their shipment, which is generous. Maybe you could go that route if you don't find one to buy.

That could add up to half the cost of the camera if it takes a while. They really do want to keep you guys as customers I guess. Good for them

I was very impressed with their offer. It certainly says a lot about their character!!
 
Just wanted to thank kylekmd for referring me to a retailer who is able to ship an AF100 my way tomorrow. The support on these forums is great.

We have just heard from Panasonic that there have been delays in manufacturing the camera. As a result, we don't expect to receive our next AF100's until approximately the week of the January 17th.[/I]

I was told 12/27....then new years week, now this....no thanks.

NO MAS! IM OUT!

got the same email. im going to wait -- its a week and a half. if i went elsewhere i probably will have to wait months
 
In the Canada thread, a poster spoke with Panasonic Canada today and was also told of manufacturing delays because of chip shortages (which chips who knows).
It's the launch of a brand new camera there will be hiccups, and a month from now we'll all have forgotten; 36 months from now we'll all be here making the same gripes about the next release.
