The official "I got my AF100" thread

So I got my Voigtlander f0.95 today...and still no camera. Ship dates seem to be a mystery to Glazer's. All I can do is await their call.
 
My sales guy at Abel hasn't been able to give me an ETA or where I am in line, but he's been very nice and helpful. Put my pre-order in right at the beginning of October.
 
I send an email today to check if my AF101 was going to be delivered soon and got very good news. They just got a couple of cameras and I went to the store and picked up mine :) It's on my table right now with the Olympus 35-100 mounted.

After talking glowingly about my dealer, it turns out our two AF100's were shipped from NY to SF on the 23rd via FedEx Ground, NOT 2-Day Air that I instructed! According to tracking info, it looks like the cameras are still sitting in a Fed Ex warehouse in NJ. Not what I had in mind.

Today I went to visit a competitor rental house(and friends) to see our Arri Alura Cine Zoom on one of their Alexas. Turns out this competitor had their two AF100's shipped by the same dealer the same day and they arrived as requested. So, at least I got a chance to see a production AF100 and I A-B'd it with an Alexa, which was fun(see separate thread). I'm definitely happy with what I saw, even if it was up against the greatest digital cine camera to date!

Sorry Jeff. That's not what we wanted to happen at all. Somehow things got flipped back to ground shipping at the last minute. I apologize for the inconvenience, please let us know how we can help you in the future.
 
That's made me wonder if anyone else in Raleigh, NC has ordered one :) I've mentioned it on a lot of local filmmakers groups but no one else has said they bought one. They want to check mine out.

Abel Cine Tech is receiving the first batch AF100's this week and have been shipping them out based on the order of our pre-order list. If you do not receive a phone call or email from us by Friday of this week that your camera has arrived, your order will not ship until after the New Year.

Please be assured that we are working as hard as we can to get enough cameras to satisfy our backorders. We have kept in constant contact with everyone involved from Panasonic, to their distributors, and freight carriers to insure that we get accurate information and expedite your order to the best of our ability.

We hope to have a better answer on delivery schedules by next week and will be contacting clients accordingly.

Abel Cine, and I preordered I think the day it was possible to do so on their site. So I don't rememeber when that was, but I would imagine I was one of the first.
