The official "I got my AF100" thread

If you aren't getting a picture when you turn on your new camera for the first time. You might need to turn off the "LENS CHECK" option in the OTHER FUNCTIONS menu. Unless of course you are using Micro 4/3 lenses.

Perhaps, questions concerning this will become the new "what's that clicking sound?" of the AF100. :)
 
Eventhough I did not get an email from B&H, I checked my order status online and I saw the message ""In stock, order sent to warehouse" right next to the camera.

Merry Christmas to me!
 
No such luck for me. My B&H order says 'awaiting stock'. However, if you try to place an order, it now says 'usually ships in 2-4 weeks'. It used to say 'usually ships in 6-10 weeks'.
 
Ditto. They'll be back in the office on Monday- nope, Tuesday, so I'm sure we'll hear from them then. Hopefully they won't be too swamped with "where's my AF100?" emails to finalize orders.

We were top of the list with Abel, our two shipped Thursday. The picture taken at Abel NY(which accounts for LA and Chicago offices) showed 15
units on a hand truck, so seems like a small first initial allotment. I believe they are closed on Monday.

I procrastinated my order with Abel,so I missed the cutoff for the first batch. I'm gonna have to wait a few more weeks. Guess I have lots of post-holiday "test footage" to look forward to, though.
 
As a business, I would just appreciate a certain amount of communication. They have my deposit, making interest off it. A simple, here's the latest email would be very professional.
There are a few options with smaller retailers. I'd like to know what th deal is. If I'm waiting another 2-4 weeks with ACT, I'll fish elsewhere.

It is the Christmas holidays though... people do deserve a break at this time of year. I'm not defending anyone but the only date that was "released" was Dec. 27th was it not?

I'm sure we'll all be hearing from our respective dealers (at least those with whom we have direct communication) over the coming week.
 
Hey Johnf and others. Andy from AbelCineTech here. We are closed on Monday, but will be open through the end of the week. We changed our holiday schedule to stay open on New Years Eve, in the hopes that we could ship more AF100s. Many more cameras should arrive next week and we promise to get them out to you as soon as possible. So please bare with us through this holiday break. I'm just happy to say that we have shipped some already. Their is a blizzard in NYC today so I'm glad that we are off tomorrow.

BTW, my words were comments, not an attack. Forums, like the news business, are about the free flowing of ideas and information.

I realize it's the holidays. I've spent many a snowy holiday turning packages on freezing street corners while the masses are curled up in front of fireplaces watching tv etc...let's keep it in perspective. We are talking about exchanging a few emails.
