the handheld shots were too shaky.
You must be going after that documentary style handheld effect but I think it was a little too much movement. I got dizzy...haha

also did you whitle balace it?
 
Yeah... WAY overdid it on the manual zoom.

And on-camera mic? Audio was too roomy... distracting.
 
I think it worked pretty well. Hard to do comedy though. The script got a little slow at times but over all good. Technically, use a boom mic, a little less motion next time IMO, and more light in the conference room.
 
Thanks for the feedback. I had seen a few episodes of the office before and knew they did the handheld shots, but didn't get a chance to see it beforehand since I was working on a busy schedule. When I looked at an episode when I had time I realized I way overdid it with the zoom and shakiness. I tried to tone it down a little in the later episodes (2 and 4, which are coming out later. 3 was shot on the same day)

I was using an external mic mounted to the camera but this was my first time using an external mic. What can I do in post to get rid of the room noise effect? I've never actually made any adjustments on audio. I'm using Premiere btw.

The whole trick is to get your mic as close to the actors as possible. Also turn off the automatic gain for audio and test your levels before shooting.

yeah the mic was a big issue, also try getting multiple angles, the whole first scene was 1 or 2 shots and it got old and boring quick.

also watch how much you zoom. the zooming in and out right after eachother was used very bad in my opinon. very funny script though i laughed alot.

also in one shot you could hear him say "go" under his breath
