The most WTF reaction to the 5Dmk3 announcement...

I'm impressed... He set it on fire and attacks it with a sledgehammer, and the only thing visibly damaged is the CF card door.

Thinking of the young child photographer who's obsessively scouring the web for used 5D camera listings and he comes across your video.

Using a baked in picture style, I see. And smashing it with a hammer isn't how you go about getting a 'flat' picture style either.

I think it would've been even better to see his primary camera get knocked over by that hammer rebound.
Tasty and ironic.

I guess the camera wasn't working to start with... and @James: yes, it helps, that's how I create that extra "a" on Flaat

Can't help thinking -- please put a rear lens caps on that lens. Is no one else here anal that way? Think of all the dust and ash and crap that might be getting in. Grr...

I treat my lenses like crap, in fact I treat all my gear as if it were indestructible. I'm quite heavy handed.

As much as I hate wasting product and materials like this... I couldn't help thinking the whole time as he was setting up the burn that he was doing it horribly wrong. He didn't have nearly enough kindling to get that baby going, now if he had a good large fire going for a while built up some nice red hot coals and tossed that baby on there and then covered it in sticks and stuffed some paper in there, then that baby would have melted it's face off!

Not that I would condone such a thing... but come on if you're going to do something do it right... wooden mallet! 20 pound sledge all the way!

Agreed!

Was this suppose to be funny? If it was, well... it missed the mark. And the sad part is he destroyed what appears to be a perfectly good 5d, that would have been a great gift for a young inspired filmmaker, that doesn't have the money for a camera. I hate to see frivalous waste for such a dumb reason. Just goes to show, not everyone can be funny.
