wow, amazing! please share the lighting setup as well as the CC. would really like to hear how this was accomplished. Great work! ( some real talent there )
Cheers for the kind comments - wow - glad u guys like - apologies for not posting sooner - been tied up editing corp stuff - been checking in but haven't had a chance to really chill until now.
Mr Hudson - Mr Lee - cheers !
I've been checking in from time to time but mostly - work picked up - editing etc ie: corp - cheap tv stuff - very bland but y'a kno - tha rent... etc etc.
Had some time off - so decided to shoot this short.
Rich,
I got your mail - just sent you one back - Im honored - Im looking fwd to your new s*it fella - throw some of that m35 on us !!!
Disjecta - again Im honored - luvin ur work dude.
All you other cats - big respect - thx for the kind words !
As too cc & settings etc - I'll try and cover it now - basically - there wasn't too much to get into, as it was very off the cuff - short on time etc.
We hired a red head 600 watt & a dedo + a standard work light to fill.
sound was a hired senhieser 416 sound kit - wasn't too impressed with the sound , when I got into post actually , but there ya go - Im fiddling with the sound right now - just compressing it to smooth the overall mix a tad.
Hopefully should sound a bit better at the screening.
In editing - just basic 3 way cc plus some tweaked mb looks in after effects.
Here is the film fest - if anyone is interested in going - if your in town that is
Soho London - details below - its getting the big screen treatment - so interesting to see how it handles mini dv .... ( nervously smiling with a light sweat)
I just posted up the latest edit - very very minor - it was a sound issue that some of you cats mentioned - anyway Its better but not 100%
Just added some soft compression to the overall sound - few more x fades here & there.
Fingers x it will be Ok at the screening - If not - I guess I'll pick myself up off the cutting room floor & just rock on.
That was really good. Not a thing I would change. I did peep the shadow of the camera-man when he said "then we did that thing w/ the candlestick", but that was it. I am envious!
Long time out of DVXUser too, really well done Carrington, I always like your work. This guy is very good, the film is very well lite and shoot, editing is top notch. It was fun to watch. Bravo!!
Bonne chance for the fest, I'm in preparation for a few months trip in Australia and New-Zeland in January.
cheers shadow - wow - oz & new zealand - the shire.
Be sure to post some shots - if ur dvx is traveling also.
The screening went well - it was a big bad ass screen & the largest in the curzon I was told.
I have to say I didn 't get that cringe feeling from seeing it up there .. well, resolution seemed fine anyway - the sound was not 100% but then the sound wasn't 100% on the other shorts either so - it was satisfactory at least.
Again - seeing the dvx perform on the big screen like this, really gives me excitement for shooting stuff in the future. What with the hvx coming etc - future looks pretty bad ass - can't wait for that baby to drop.
