The LEAD 3 min short

Hey guys,

Haven't been around for awhile - manged to knock up a quick short for a fest here In Soho London - getting screened In a few weeks.
It really was - a very rushed Job - only had 4 days to do the whole thing - one days shooting - 3 days editing - no rehearsal etc.
Anyway - 'The lead' explores the eccentric & fragile mind of an actor, and plays with public fascination & often warped perception of the 'movie star'
We follow a man reliving a past, basking in glory & crossing the line between imagination & reality.

Remember - Tom Cruise - Risky Buisness ?

All Dvx with wide angle - fcp
Shot & edited guerilla by me -

Its only a 3 min short - we had fun.

Frankly...it's freakin' awesome. I'm impressed. I laughed, cried (inside) and came, all in three minutes.

Seriously, I thought it was really really well done, and was everything a 3 minute film should be. It will get a great response at the festival, I'm betting.

Carrington! Dl'ing now.

Where've you been?

EDIT

Loved it; very fun and nicely cast. A lot of good one liners in this; where was this shot?

its awesome man. very funny...the look is really cool. great editing/sound/music as usual. keep us informed as to how it does in the fest.

dude, you get my reply to your email?

hahah great. really good editing here as well, i know the requiem for a dream-esque drug scene needs specific background sound effects and you pulled it of very nicely.

my fav shot is where he's laughing after he said something about rebecca d. riding his face. the little cut at 1:14 min it works so well.

anyways great job loved it

That was NICE WORK! Great performance too! Tell us about the CC and the lighting setup. About the CC, I noticed you didn´t have crushed blacks, but very soft blueish shadows. Am I right?

Really liked it! The acting, the photography, directing, all. Congrats! The guys' acting reminds me of Nic Cages when he is overacting (not that I'm saying Nics' acting is like a washedout speed freak actors')...and that REALLY suits the "plot". Share the knowledge, my friend. What on camera settings did you use? How about CC?

i enjoyed that great editting i did see a shadow at one point it looked like the boom overhead. the acting was good. good matieral to work with. very good

Nicely executed. You captured some really brilliant dialog, improvised or not ("dyslexia - the thinking man's aids") I nearly pissed myself laughing at a few of those lines. The top-notch editing made for great pacing. A quick three minutes for sure.

Good luck in the contest, not that The Lead needs it.
