The Jay Leno Situation...

Ron Meyer (big heavy hitter) just got done negotiating Conan's pay out (it was a big one), Conan is leaving NBC and Jay got the Tonight Show back.

I'll bet we see Conan go to FOX and head to head with Jay when that time slot is open in a little under a year.

I'd be surprised if the above deal didn't change overnight because Conans ratings have been going through the roof, it might make NBC take another look at letting Conan go.

Sorry bro.

I'm also upset about it and will probably have a hard time watching Jay if I ever do again.

Jay's audience is going to revolt against him on this one, it's just not right.

My sources are 100% accurate but that doesn't mean Conan can't change his mind tonight and cave in to do the show at 12:05 to stay with NBC.

Doubt it though, he and Zucker are past the point of no return.

If you were a really funny comedian, okay, I could accept how you chomped on this show like a pitbull and wouldn't let go, but Jay Leno...

it's like there's only one car in the garage and it goes to the sibling who wants to take it to the National Museum of Mayonaisse.

Late night talk shows are lame, as is most of TV programming, IMO.
I actually think some of the drama shows on TV are as good as ever before. (CSI, Numb3rs, Law & Order, etc.) But reality TV, and some dead, and antiquated shows drag things down.

No one has answered this: What the hell is NBC going to be showing at 10pm once the Olympics are over??? Even if they shuffle a few shows, they are going to have a 1-hour gap five nights a week. It's not like in the next month they can easily write/produce/shoot/cut and promote that much content. Whatever they stick there is likely to have serious problems, potentially keeping the network's ratings low as soon as the Olympic boost abates.

NBC bought two pilots (to be made into series) one is from J.J. Abrams and the other Jerry Bruckheimer, they have some other show. It'll be reruns until things get moving on the production side but scripted drama shows will be put in that time slot.

Ohh, there is also talk about the remake of some old cop show tv series from back in the 70's. It might even be a done deal by now.

I actually like Law & Order a fair amount, but that line-up looks like it's something from 2006 or so. Ugh.

That would be The Rockford Files.
Nooooo! Please! I loved Rockford. It was great fun and great TV...for 1975. But to remake it would be disastrous. And there's no way they could replace Garner. This could be as bad as the movie "Shaft".

I'm watching Leno right now. He's as unfunny as Jimmy Fallon. Seriously, both of these guys would get kicked off of cable access for being unwatchable.

I just read that Leno was considering walking away. If that happens then Conan can stay. Right? The only way things could be normal again is if Zucker left and they brought in someone to fix the prime time line-up and who was a Conan fan.

LMAO, Jimmy Kimmel was pretty ruthless on Leno. Awesome stuff.

And seriously, keep Coco and lose Leno. He's absolutely horrendous.
