The Jay Leno Situation...

Pretty much Leno's only comment tonight was "[Conan's ratings have gone up. You're welcome.]". That's pretty cold right there.

Considering when all this news broke, Leno's ratings (during the coveted time slot he currently holds) were like a 1.6 on the neilsen charts if I remember correctly... So, he's one to talk :)

I'm not really into the late night lineups. Haven't watched them in a long time, but have been watching them the last few nights, just to see how childish it gets. Caught a few episodes of Conan over the last months, and it just felt very uncomfortable. The show actually seems a lot better right now than those other episodes I caught. Though, I wish he'd lay off it a bit and stay classy. Jabs and jokes about it all is starting to permeate his whole show. Stay on the high road.

Kimmel was funny on Leno tonight though.

He he he he, Leno having some sympathy 'now' is a very nice way for him to save his audience.

Best thing for both of them that I said before would be to leave NBC.

I think Jay (actually Zucker) just realized tonight how many people will revolt against the show.

What a mess. I feel sorry for both of them.
 
Anyone watching Conan right now? Wow. What a monologue.

That list of potential "movies" Conan could feature in was the language of someone who knows they are on the way out. Hilariously inappropriate. No holds barred.

And the rest of the monologue was pretty hard hitting too.

I'm glad I went out for drinks tonight with friends and didn't see any of it. I'll try to watch youtube clips tomorrow.

I like Conan's impression of the NBC executives with their cat.

Though his next comment "Nothing to loose" makes me sad.

Zucker might be giving in right about now and begging Conan not to leave.

What a douche bag, I hope Conan walks even if he has to do a show for free for a year.

For those that don't know Jeff Zucker is Conan's boss who btw had him arrested in college (they have a bad history) for stupid pranks (from what I was told) so there is some bad blood between them. Ari is Conans agent and will probably put a hurtin on NBC for years too come.

It's a tough situation for all involved. And I'll join you in openly disagreeing with the idea of Conan being "forced" out of his slot. Taking sides is fine, but lets keep the personal attacks out of it please.

Wow, Kimmel was razor sharp there. Something Leno hasn't been in years.

Real shame Conan's being treated the way he is here.
