The Human Centipede (First Sequence)

I don't know. Frankly, the creature looks pretty funny. And how the hell does this thing eat. And I imagine this could be "medically accurate" but it's a creature based on multiple people's heads being connected to another person butt. Sorry but it sounds like an Adam Sandler comedy to me versus a scary horror film. When I saw the monster I didn't know what to think, but it eventually came out as laughter. I will say this, I would love to know how this one ends.

No, the monster is the doctor. The centipede are the victims.

True that. I meant the creature. The human centipede simply looks...kinda goofy. I noticed they put the man at the front, otherwise this would've been a whole different kind of film. No matter what, it still gets a WTF!?! But hey, it's a human centipede right?
Riiiiight?

Heard this was horribly acted and horribly executed overall. Not sure how this one made it into theatres. lol People must be exceptionally bored and numb to the human experience.

I've seen laundry soap commercials with better chops than had this trailer. So, yeah -- my heart goes out to anyone who decided to see it.

You heard wrong.

It's not for everyone (myself included), but I wouldn't call it "horribly acted" or "horribly executed" at all.

This wasn't a "good" movie. In fact, I find it quite repulsive. However, I watched the whole movie - with two 20 minute breathers.

The reason I like Human Centipede is because the Producers knew what they wanted to make, and they weren't afraid to make it! It wasn't gratuitous like Hollywood slashers. It was way more intelligent than that.

Really, this movie is the epitome of independent film. Have a story to tell. Don't be afraid to tell it. And do the best job you can towards executing it as a cohesive product.

7/10

Fiiiiiiinally got around to seeing this one via Netflix Watch it now.

Completely brilliant. In the genre of torture horror, this is absolutely top ten.

Ironically I wasn't as grossed out as some people have said they were. Maybe because the torture was so extreme and over-the-top it was easy to stay in that "It's just a movie" space. I think depictions of violent rape, etc are way more cringe-worthy than something like this. For me this was just a fun indie popcorn flick.

Good times.

I think it's amazing. Wouldn't even classify it as torture porn. SAW is torture porn imo. That's nothing but violence for the sake of it. THC is about as far away from that as you can get.

Now go see A Serbian Film too. It's great.

Saw the first one against my better judgement and it was (in a way) great. Finally a horror movie with a tripod and some actual shot composition (and was an excellent demonstration of the filmic look having very little to do with the camera).

It is the idea that is gross, there is actually less blood than your average M-rated mainstream action movie and only six deaths. The entire makeup for the centipede itself consisted of some stitched latex cheeks with everything else hidden by bandages. No way is it torture porn. You pretty much don't see anything, the horror is psychological and depends on what you yourself conjure up in your mind. I actually wasn't sure if it was a horror or the darkest of comedies. A lot of laughs here if you can get over yourself. I remember everyone being too scared to watch Freddie Kruger back in the day and when we finally did we couldn't understand what the fuss was about.

That such a disturbing movie can be created with such a ridiculous idea and carried off with more composition and style than many big budget movies can muster these days, I was impressed. The Japanese guy's performance was fantastic, the girls were just as the mainstay of eighties horror movies - before the plot gets underway they are noticeably 'acting' and afterwards they are convincingly weeping and screaming for the rest of the film. The doctor was brilliantly over-the-top and disturbed and Dieter Laser was relishing the role. Finally a B-movie that's actually a B-movie (I've missed real B-movies).

After being convinced to watch it by a mate I discovered the sequel was being shown uncut at a pre-screening locally. It will be banned or edited on Monday after the censors hand down their review. It's already banned in the UK and heavily edited in the US. If they don't want me to see it I have to, although I went exepecting to have a bad time. As a marketing gimmick they gave us all sick bags going in (I read online that this gimmick has been used everywhere but only one person has actually needed it).

Well, if you didn't like the first one you would have to be retarded to watch this one. And if you loved the first one you should consider your options if you intend to see this one. It is in black and white and that makes all the gore so much more impactful. I still don't know if this one could truly be considered torture porn because the graphic scenes are only gratuitous if you consider the whole movie to be. But the violence and graphic nature of the film do have a subtext in this film. It is not just "here are some people, let's torture them" like every non-monster horror film I've seen in the last 10-15 years. I gave up on Saw after about 20 minutes, less due to moral outrage than boredom. This film answers the wowsers and plays with the idea that fans will go out and replicate what they have just seen and shows how ridiculous the argument is. There are several ideas floating around under this. It is riotously funny in parts, the audience was howling with laughter for much of the movie (although laughter is a biological response to emotions like fear and disgust, if I give Tom Six credit perhaps he deliberately played around with this) and totally gagging for the rest. Somehow they were able to make the horrible perpetrator almost sympathetic - which is no mean feat of filmmaking.

There are several scenes that I definitely didn't need to see and would have enjoyed it more had they not gone there. But I found them to be disappointing artistic choices, rather than worthy of censorship - and to another way of thinking they should be left in because you should leave a movie like this feeling like I did. I am definitely still traumatised by the experience two days later. It will take weeks to get some of these images out of my head. I doubt very much I will ever watch it again. But I think it was a worthy movie. I (think) I'm glad I watched it. I don't know if I'll watch the next one (yes a third movie of sewing mouths to bums - in 3D no less).

Unless you slip the disc into a Bambi cover at the video store, noone is going to see this movie by accident. The censors should leave adults to decide for themselves whether to put themselves through something like this. And despite whatever psychological scars I will bear from this...IT IS ONLY A MOVIE. As with all movies you can choose to put yourself through a traumatic or dangerous experience in an environment of complete safety, or simply not watch it. Just because you have a weak stomache and inflated sense of your own moral sensibility doesn't mean you can decide whether or not others should be allowed. Go on an internet forum and warn the world but don't make decisions for others. So I am not recommending you avoid this movie, just warning. But that said except for a few scenes I've seen worse, in some cases the same (didn't like similar scenes in Borat either - fat men on not my preference for full nudity). And in ten years when we look at this and wonder what all the fuss was about we can look around at all the 'moral decay'. Remember when sex scenes involved been fully clothed and keeping both feet on the floor? Of course not, it's ridiculous - we're grown ups and we've 'progressed'.
