The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

plus if the film had been based on modern time, that condition would not only be completely unreal but if for some reason it could be posible, the media and the internet would be all over it from day one, I also loved that last sequence

AC article is pretty good. the shooting resolution was only 1080x1920. that's encouragement for anyone who's worried about the HVX's potential for going theatrical.

Hmm...

IMHO - While it featured some very good performances overall, individual scenes that were skillfully directed and was beautifully shot, (although I didn't groove on the faked distressed film look too much) - it just didn't do it for me.

I really thought that the story was crushed under the weight of its 3 hr bulk. Don't get me wrong, many of my favorite films would be in the LONG category, so I'm not opposed to lengthy movies but...

I honesty felt like an hour+ could have been cut while still retaining what could have been a simple, more straight forward narrative structure that would've strengthen the film as a whole.

my 2 bits,

Saw this tonight... didn't work for me... might make a really interesting book, but it wasn't a good film (IMO)... slow... no climax... the pluses were the cinematography, and the good performances.

Just saw it with my Mom. By the time the credits rolled she wasn't the only one crying. Wow! Excellent work. It dragged at parts but overall a great film.

The best part was the explanation of the taxi accident in Paris. Perfectly told and executed. Fincher should win an Oscar just for those two minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if an Insurance company doesn't slap their logo onto the last 5 seconds and starts selling insurance. lol

Brilliant filmmaking. Between this and Slumdog it's been a good few weeks of movie watching.

That was the only part I really didn't like. But the rest was awesome. This and Synecdoche are my favorite films of the year.

I thought it was a great film. I thought Brad Pitt was really good. So were all the other actors.

It was a movie!!! No one ages backwards. One reason the people accept it is they don't see it as fast as we did. It was years for them not three hours.

just something i was curious about throughout the movie. why does he age backwards? i've never heard of anybody aging backwards before. in the world of this movie, are there other people who age backwards? or is he the only one? why do all the characters accept it so easily? i was expecting some kind of payoff. so when we got to the end and i didn't even get a hint i was a little disappointed.

btw, i didn't even realize it was the same writer as Gump!

Was it just me, or was anybody else thinking that some of the night stuff was really dark? I spent half the movie wondering if someone mis-printed the release print.

It was incredibly dark. Se7en was dark, but that was a dark story also. 2C2B was kind of upbeat. Looking round the net it seems that Fincher is known as the king of darkness. So many of the scenes left the subjects in darkness with patches of bright in the bg - very interesting technique aesthetically.

Seems like a shoo-in for best cinematography.

Cant believe I spent 3 hrs of my life watching this "Forrest Gump" clone. The taxi scene is Cheesy, the lightning scenes are SUPER CHEESY and not to mention you just dont "feel" for Kate + Brad relationship AT ALL. To me the story is TOO Fragmented, and no, i didint like Forrest Gump either, IMHO, that movie is even dumber than this one.
