thanks

Sorry, but you using someone's else's music and placing it in your film is NOT
scoring for a film. You are merely editing someone's else work.

A composer creates an underscore for a film.

Additionally, if you are interested in Royalty Free Music, may I suggest you search out
companies that are well respected and known for quality royalty free music. It
may cost a few dollars initially, but you will at least be purchasing a product that
will get you close to what you need to support your film now and the ability
to reuse the music again in another project.

I realize there's always a budget (or lack of) to be considered but why is it that
there is very little thought put forth for the post production for a film (which can
make or break it). People will watch a film with bad composition, lame camera angles,
even editing, but it the audio can't be heard or the music does nothing more than
create "tired ears" the film is doomed.

Good luck on your search. I didn't mean to "rant".

Hey Who !

Seek out sites of composers that have forums for thier fans (Who are usually composers; like our filmmaking selves) . I found my composer at Hans Zimmers site; he does everything free for me; for copy, credit and exposure.

I simply posted in the forum asking for someone who could score Pestilence (That zombie film); now he is scoring my dramafest. (I had 6 other dudes interested and chose mine off of his style!)

He rules.

Also

Acid Planet has tons of original music by people using Loops. Maybe finding an artist you like would create a relatioship ?

Good luck !

Great advice! So its a Hans Zimmer fan scoring your film, it would be too insane if it wans Hans himself? lol. That sounds awsome though, apreciate it!

i've used http://www.freeplaymusic.com/ also. i ordered a track a few weeks back, and they were still going through the alphabet making wav files available in addition to mp3s. if you order something from there and can't find the wav, just drop them an email and they'll hook you up at no extra cost.

there's also www.beatsuite.com, but i haven't used them.
