AC90: The camera Panasonic forgot?

Having been looking on PASS (http://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/p2ui/guest/TopLogin.do?lang=en&category=pav ) the Panasonic pro support pages after registering my AC90 I find there is very little or nothing for the AC90. All the other cameras have a lot of information and updates but not the AC90.

Many of the charts, selector guides etc stop short of the AC90. You would have though that the web site would have been updated for the AC90. Whilst the AC90 is not in the same league as their high end pro units it does have quite a following and is used as a B camera by a lot of serious pro users.

Anyone any idea why Panasonic is "not bothering" with the AC90 on the PASS web site? (yes I am a registered user and have logged in to look round)

IS there a better 3rd party support web site for the AC90?

If you're UK, that's not the page. Even though it says so on the sticker on the camera!

https://broadcast.panasonic-support.eu

Try that. I used that to register my HMC41 years ago, then two cameras later forgot how I did it and had to email Panasonic UK to ask. And they hadn't a clue! They presumed I was on the .EU site, and even suggested that I had a grey import camera (it came from Prestons, and the previous postal address was Panasonic UK, from Panasonic Japan!).

You may have more luck on that site, it's the actual one for EU users (including UK).

I don't actually know if there's any more info on that site for the AC90 though. As an AC130a owner I don't find a lot of love either, there's no firmware updates or anything else. But the camera works fine, I've no complaints.

HI Mike, I did register on that site. It is the PASS site I was referring to. No problems with the camera it just seems that Panasonic have neglected it on their support sites compared to the other cameras.

The whole Panny website has always been an unwanted stepchild to Panny. If you look around, you can usually find what you need, and in the case of software, always seems to works. But the translations can be comedic and not intuitive navigation at all. For a company in the 21st century who builds high-tech equipment to be so out of it on their web presence seems crazy. Enjoy the cam.

More specifically about your query, Panny cams all seem to have a similar mojo. So if you look at a scene file for a HPX or HMC cam, if you follow a similar recipe trend, it should work out in a similar way. Compared to the settings on other cams, the scaling may be different, so some testing will be in order. That is a good thing anyway since the cookie cutter recipes offered up aren't always great in the first place.

Yeah I find the website to be next to impossible to navigate. I find doing a google search gets me to the page faster.
here is a link to the models and firmware. http://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/p2ui/guest/ShowWebContents.do?key=U032 (USA site only... not sure)
