7D Tester13 and 7D

LOL,whole Microsoft couldnt handle this problem and had to introduce other filesystem but you dont see why it cant be just "hacked".great.:Drogar-Happy(DBG):

I don't think the point is to "hack" the FAT32 filesystem. The point is to just create a new file and continue recording without losing any frames. That to me would solve the problem just fine.

The 12 minute limit and the aliasing may or may not be possible. Who knows? Tester 13 has shown us that more is possible than we think, so you never know what can happen.

I'm just excited that there are people put there that are pushing these cameras to the limits, i'm just so surprised that the companies aren't doing this as well, i mean i can understand they want to save some things for future cameras so they can make more money, but why they are limiting them so much is beyond me.

Actually he made it very clear from the get go what is and is not possible and that most of what would be modified are values...numerical things.

If we finally get monitor out on the GH1 that would be big news, but short of that there's not much that was done to the GH1 that could easily be adapted to the 7D if similar methodology is used..

I would like variable bit rate for the 7D too, but I'm content with the quality for now. I'd really like to see the live histogram and magic lantern upgrades implemented tho.

Well since there seems to be some grasping at straws going on, how about a firmware hack that improves the actors' performances and maybe something to help with craft services... can never have too much craft services. Of course I'd be happy with manual audio and meters :)

LOl...good one Rakesh.

Here's a crazy thought...what about 48p/1080p? That would be the best of both worlds since 24 goes into 48 evenly (you can have smooth slow motion and normal speed all from one framerate). This would be James Cameron's choice. :)

Wait...this should go into the GH-1.

Speaking of James Cameron and hacks (that might have come out wrong (nto really)) How about a script generator where you enter in the genre and skin color, I mean the 7D has 2 processors, certainly it can randomly generate a better script than... never mind... too far...

That would be DOPE! and yeah right now that seems way more plausable with the GH1. I see you're dumping your 7D! I'm gonna hold on to mine, but I have a couple T1is and a hardly used HVX200a collecting dust, I might have to dump them for a couple GH1s. SO EXCITING! :)

I think the current ptool would let you use any framerate in 720p mode, so 48 should be completely possible.

I know we're not supposed to discuss this here, but real quick, so I'm assuming this means you can undercrank as well? and at 1080 since it should handle lower frame rates/bit rates fine?

That's a first!
I'll have to mark the calendar.

Seriously though, I would just like to say that without Barry and the rest of the gang from this forum I would be completely lost. As it stands I still don't get half of what you guys are saying.

Great community here, and a very knowledgeable one at that.
