T2i Tripod Recommendations?

Hey guys, I am currently using the t2i and have a 10 day US tour that I will be filming as a freelance project. I am planning on getting a new tripod but don't know which one is recommended.

My set up will consist of tripod and glidecam, and potentially some handheld. I have this quick release plate + adapter mounted on my glidecam (http://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-323...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1300721679&sr=1-1)

I want to be able to back and forth quickly between tripod and glidecam if need be, I want a decent tripod with a decent head nothing too crazy though, the ability to switch between the 2 quickly is more important...

Any recommendations for my set up?

I am looking at these legs and head (same QR)

or this head: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/553886-REG/Manfrotto_128RC_128RC_QR_Micro_Fluid.html

which is better?

I have those legs, but with the 501HDV head. I would suggest going for that head over the head you have listed. Or at least the 701HDV.

you will see a HUGE improvement, well worth the money.

Those look pretty low rent. People like the Libec stuff, and there's usually some Manfrotto 503 heads on eBay.

If you're not planning on doing any pans or tilts you can use about anything. But a decent fluid head is something that's hard to find cheap, and it's one of the few pieces of gear where "buy cheap now and upgrade later" will really hurt your final footage. I've shot T2i video with $50 Nikon manual glass and it's been stellar, people can make great frames with shop lights - but I wouldn't want to pan with a crappy head.

Start with something that has a 75mm half ball; you should find some decent sticks & heads in that dept.

Some people have posted here about the chinese import stuff, there's one that seems like a direct knockoff of the bigger manfrotto heads. Do an eBay search in the "tripods & supports" section with the term "75mm", you'll see a lot of heads under $200 and several used items - can't speak for the quality, they look decent and the eBay feedback seems good. There have been some recent threads about cheaper tripods so use the search button up-top. At least a T2i isn't very heavy.
