Canon Rebel t2i--My Experiences
I was at a photography shoot recently where the photographer was using a Canon Rebel t2i for still photography. He showed me some of its functions and we went over the photos he took and I was pretty impressed.
This was a model shoot in a studio with studio lights, a cyclorama, etc. The results were impressive, so when he told me it shoots pretty good video too I was game to check it out.
On my next short, I asked this photographer to bring it along and we’d do some shots with it. I’ve never liked DSLR’s for this kind of thing in the past. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I’m used to stuff like the XL2 which I like. But I wanted to see what this little camera could do.
And boy was I impressed.
Right off the bat, let me just say, this is not film quality we’re talking about. It’s not a RED. But, for 800 bucks and on a DSLR, I was blown away.
The clarity was surprising.
The ergonomics were natural.
The display interface was logical.
And the resulting video looked far better than I ever expected.
With all the talk about the 7D lately, I thought this review would be timely. For about half the price of the 7D, this little canon was truly awesome. So much so that it’s on my wishlist now. I can see all kinds of scenarios where it would come in handy. A great product at a great price.
