T2i and FCP

Ok, so I installed the E1 Plugin for FCP. I did the hack, and can't seem to get it to work. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it three times, making sure to follow each instruction very carefully each time. The memory card is called "EOS_DIGITAL". It records both THM and MOV files. The file path is DCIM-100CANON- (My Videos). When I open Log and Transfer in FCP, and go to add a custom path, and I've tried all the folders on that memory card, it says its an invalid path. I'm using a Transhend SDHC Class 6 16gb Memory Card. Have any ideas?

Thanks!

BTW, I'm only using the .8 firmware.

Are you pointing it to the ROOT of the card (or folder you put the card image in)? Picking subfolders won't work.

If nobody has any other ideas, any other suggestions for importing footage?
I tried MPEG Streamclip 20mins ago, but wasn't satisfied with the quality. Of course it could be that it was out of focus to begin with.

I just want a way I can render it out in AIC or ProRes so I don't get a dropped frame message every 3 secs!

Intel!

3.06ghz Core 2 Duo
4gig Ram
256mb Graphics

And just thinking of it Snow Leopard is not supported on PowerPC.

I use this hack with my t2i but fcp 7 and it works fine.

What is the URL to the instructions you are using?

I have a feeling you have put the file in the wrong location on your system.

Are you using a card reader?

Thanks.

Na, I followed all the instructions. I am using the URL from the 5d page. I am using the card reader built-in on my imac.

Much faster than log & transfer.
Any Free Options?

You know what i made a mistake. I use clipwrap to transcode AVCHD(Sony NX5) to Prores. For T2i I use MPEG Streamclip which you already tried and not satisfied. So I am out ;)

And what url exactly is that? No URL no help from me and mine works just fine.

Perhaps you did follow the instructions but it is not working is it? Nothing wrong with having what you did validated.

Compressor, which you have with FCS.

Or MPEG StreamClip, which works faster than Compressor on batch processing. I know you weren't happy after a short try with it, but the quality, in my experience, is great... assuming that the actual footage is good. The only major advantage the EOS plug-in has is that, when it works, it generates new TC for each clip based on the time of day tag on the source file.

Ok, so here is the steps I would do in MPEG Streamclip for Highest Quality and fastest editing
Please correct me if I'm wrong

1. Open File
2. Export to Quicktime or MPEG-4 (You Tell Me what FCP Supports)
3. Select Apple Intermediate Codec (Someone said this was best)
4. Turn Quality to 100%
5. Uncheck Interlaced Scaling
6. Export

Am I hitting all the steps?
Do I need to change anything for Highest quality and fastest editing?

Thanks!

Export to QuickTime, but do not use MPEG. MPEG-4 is not an editing codec. You need to use an I-frame codec, not a GOP codec.

And why AIC? That was made obsolete by ProRes. Pick your flavor of ProRes. Some use LT, some use HQ, some use 422. I think LT is fine.

Instead of opening the file directly in MPEG StreamClip, which has never worked for me, start a new batch list. List>Batch List, or CMD+B. Click "Add Files" and select your source footage. Click GO and you'll have a screen to select your codec and all the options.
