Ok so first of all, I just ordered a Tokina today and bit the bullet on the $699 price tag. I'm leaving on a roadtrip soon and needed it now. But I'm so stoked to get it and start shooting.
I'm a graphic designer but I shoot video on the side and mainly action sports. I'm gonna run into some money to spend here in a week or so and I can't decide what I want to purchase. I know I should probably save for better lighting, but I'm leaving on the 27th and my two cheapo light stands will do.
I've been reading the forums nonstop recently and I already have most of the essentials.. tripod, glidecam2000, viewfinder, spare batts, two cards and now the tokina. (Using the zip tie focus pull for now.. which is on the stock lens. ) The only thing I'm positively sure on buying so far is the battery grip. There is nothing more annoying than having to take my camera off my glidecam 3 times to swap out dead batts.
I'm torn between getting another lens or starting to build up a rig. My budget is probably around the $700 price range. What do you guys think?
