FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

WOW! I can't wait to see this film.

Thanks! I will post the pic one more time in case some have missed it since we are on a new page. I am busily working now on the reverse shot where we are looking at the actors from behind them from a distance.

That is SOOOOOOO BAADASSS!!!! Can I share this on F/B??

Sure David. Go for it! Thanks for checking! I am glad you like it. Your arms must have been hurting holding those women in the air in that storm, but that's why you are a buff detective of awesomeness eh? -Matt

David, I was glad you had such a grip hanging on to Stephanie French's wet hands. What a job by you and the other actors that night!

Matt is 2/3 the way through the last scene that has wire removal. Then on to full time VFX magic. There are some cool surprises for all in store.

This film is gonna ROCK!

My goal today is to finish the wire removal and compositing for the distant shot from the back of the people hanging. After that, I do the downward shots from the top of the "Hospital" looking at the girl's faces and then I am done with wire removal. Oh what a happy day that will be!!!!!!!!! :violin: -Matt

Very hot indeed. Nice footage. I'm going to forward it to a couple of filmmakers who are currently working in post on some wire effects etc. for inspiration :)

Keep it going.

-Martin

Looks really amazing to see how you did it ..... only small disturbing issue: I get the feeling that when hanging the 2 girls are not really vertically to the ground. As I would expect to see them due to the gravity :) The second girl especially is bit too far form the wall.
Maybe I just see wrong :)

They are moving in the shot and they flail around a little while acting, but they are really hanging. I built the hanging rig and the 3 story greenscreen wall they are near. :engel017: Lol, I even hung myself and bounced to try to kill myself on that rig... To test it. :Drogar-Shock(DBG): Go back and look at the funny pics of me as spiderman on that wall. Hehe.

Man, David Fine was tremendous that night. What a talent. He was leaning out of the constructed second story greenscreen window for the interior VFX shots and I was anchoring him by holding on to his belt as he leaned out. I kept feeling his muscles in his back flex and tense... So I asked him if it was heavy holding on to actress Stephanie French. I thought he was supporting her. He wasn't even supporting her weight at all, but amazingly was acting with his whole body to the point I thought his flexing of back muscles was to support someone. His whole body was acting.

Now THAT is an actor. Nice job David!

We were blessed with great leads for STRICKEN. I would work with any of them again with no second thoughts. :engel017:

UPDATE: James Mierkey got me some of the score tonight for Stricken. He is definitely talented as what I have heard is amazing. Great Job James. I am listening to it repeatedly, letting it sink in before I write any notes. I really like it! -Matt

That's it :) I missed that part and it now explains all. Of course a single frame was not enough to get the whole pic. If they swing around then it makes sense :) The swinging part is the key :)
What about the clothes and gravity ? ANy problem there ? To make sure that the clothing didnt hang too much on the "wrong side" ? :)

Great work anyway, inspiring :)
cheers

Perhaps, you are getiing confused because the VFX walkthrough has the green walls sideways at the start? That was just to fit the pics for display on the thread. The wall was vertical so gravity pulled the clothing down as gravity should. Am I missing your meaning? Do you think they were laying flat horizontally?

Just got done backing Stricken up again onto an external hard drive. That always makes me feel better and safe! -Matt

Keep it up GENTS! Looking great! Miss you lots bro.... My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

Thanks Mark! I hope things are going well for you with Finding Hope Now. Stricken is coming along nicely. Our sound design is about 1/2 done and the score is shaping up nicely. (Thanks James!) We miss you too. We will have to hang out soon and catch up. -Matt
