FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

SEEKING- Incredibly talented compositor or VFX guru to create a creepy title sequence for Stricken. This is targeted at hitting the AFM this year and money is available on the backend.
We also need a professional DVD menu for encore CS4, and perhaps a tad of VFX work done for the film. Please PM me if interested, or e-mail me through the Stricken website under the contact us section. www.strickenthemovie.com

-Matt Sconce (Writer / Director)

UPDATE: One of our key locations came through yesterday and we are good to go in JUNE now. It turned out beyond what we have hoped. We have some VFX individuals interested in the project as well as some sales agents to get it distribution. All seems to be going well. We will keep pressing onward. The next shoot is the 12th-14th. -Matt

Hey Matt!
Hopefully your shooting goes on well! And that you get a good VFX guy!

Thanks! the VFX guys we are using are great! We have a rotoscoper, keyer, wire removal guru, a Matte Painting Guru, and a VFX guru who worked on Star Wars Episode Two, Monster House, Big Trouble, and a bunch of other big things.

We are also excited to be working with Brad Semenoff of O2 fame, for our sound design. -Matt

We are one week away from a shoot at a really amazing location. To build this set would have cost at least $20K and required a 40m x 100m warehouse. I am so thankful we are able to use it for free. Here is a pic of Matt with the portable Shocklight behind him. We will be using a lot of these one week from today on location. Great job Matt for Producing the location. Production values are going to soar. I can hardly wait!

I'm excited to be a part of the team, Matt. Now hurry up and finish production so we can get started with the fun stuff! :)

UPDATE:
Filming in a Haunted Hospital:

This weekend and the following weekend, we will be filming in a Hospital in Avenal, CA. It is abandoned and some of the EMT crew will not go into it after dark. They hear children crying and doors opening and such and swear it is haunted. James Dean died in that hospital. We will be filming some rocking scenes there...and staying the night. Sounds like the making of another scary movie...

Some recaps of some great Stricken scenes (Some color corrected, some not):

I was down at the Hospital on Monday setting scenery and this guy... well, he kinda appeared in a room and asked to be in the movie... I didn't notice him walk in, but he was pretty good looking and I told him to come back this Thursday and meet the director... He said, "I hear David Fine and Stephanie French are in this film and want to haun... er... meet them..." Dunno...

Well, we are headed to the hospital to set it up today after work. We rented a hospital bed and should have a crash cart etc. Time to art direct. -Matt

UPDATE: Wow...just Wow about his last weekend. There were some glorious moments. I cannot show the best because they are spoilers, but I am quite pleased. I will post some grabs if I can. A special thanks to Avenal hospital and to the tireless efforts of my dad, Gary. He is like having a crew of 15 people. I appreciate him greatly. See ya. -Matt-Matt

Thanks, Matt! I just arrived home (Monday 11:45am) after leaving home for location on Friday morning at 10am. I have had around 7.5 hours of sleep in 4 days.

The actors were unleashed on this weekend's shoot. David Fine' s performance as Detective Aro was absolutely inspiring. He and Stephanie French as Sarah Black actually caused me to have an emotional response while I was holding the boom because they were so believable in their explosively charged interaction. I forgot I was working to make a film, and was a guy in a theater watching a movie that was pulling me completely in. It was one of the high points in my life watching those two act in an intense scene together under Matt's creative direction. Wow.

All of us were saying, "Matt, back that up right now!" because we knew that solid gold was on the P2 cards.

It was great to see Matt's sweeping single steadycam shot that moves actually over half way through the hospital. Way to go Matt!

Please don't misunderstand me, or take this as, 'We are so cool,' or as falsely pumping up this film just to blatantly promote it. For me, this is not the case. It was just amazing to watch this weekend's magic, and I think I may never see such a thing again.

:dankk2: Thanks again to the committed cast and crew, to Wanda, to the kind, patient and wonderful Avenal Hospital District staff, to the cool guys that work at the Avenal Ambulance service, to Mark the fire captain, and special thanks to Wayne the Deputy for keeping us all safe. What a great guy. We go there again next week for the retirement home shoot.

I told you you would like working with David ... he's a pro all the way. A lot of fun to have on set and great talent. I look forward to working with him again in the future.

It's always so wonderful to hear and see people so excited by the film they are doing.
We spend way to much time with technical aspects and equipment and forget the the very reason why we learned about the equipment in the first place. It's the high on the set and filming your baby.

"Dream your Film. Film your Dream"
Good luck to you. Post away Matt!

Thanks everyone!

Well, I can't post some of the freakin' amazing shots because they give everything away, so instead I will post some other great shots from the weekend. Some have a color correction test pass and others are untouched:
