Stormy look

How about this?

You need after effects. Any compositing program will be better than MB for what you
are looking for. Hope this helps

Kprince that is the crazist thing I have ever seen. Thats pretty awesome.

Thats pretty much what I'm looking for accept the blue light in the room and the porch light. You made it look dark outside with the clouds thats what I need!

I Think I'm gunna re shoot this since its my house and hopefully it'll be a cloudier day and the tree won't have those wooden things on from the hurricane.

How long do you think it would take to do a 7 second clip like this? My film school is suppose to be doing an after effects class for grads soon.

Quick solution

Quick solution

1.Shoot the house with the CLEANEST BLUE sky the day will afford. The sky will act as your "Blue" screen.

2. Shoot about 3 different CLOUDSCAPES. Big and fluffy. Wispy and thin. Shoot a 5 O'clock Cloudscape as well.

3. Key out your BLUE sky from your MASTERSHOT play with the feathering/sensitivity sliders? Never used Vegas.

4. Place your CLOUDS in the frame play with opacities/blend modes and CC untill you get the "LOOK" that makes you smile.

5. Be patient, a solid finished product will hold it's own, half ass'd work on the other hand.....well.....

Hey if anybody is willing to help me out with this "stormy look" I'll include your name in the credits, give you a free copy of my film, and a $20 bill.

seriously though...

I can't do it since i don't have after effects and i wouldn't know how even if i did.

By cloudscapes do you mean just shoot clouds alone?

Yes, You can composite them later. Crop/ feather/ CC/ whatever. You'll have alot more flexibility and will make for a really unique cloud fomation.

Personally I'd frame it a bit higher more sky since it's your focal point in the scene
"Storm is coming" if the audience doesn't think that, you've failed in your intention.

Storm

Storm

Here is my take. The moving image is in the works and turning out awesome! Let me know if you want to see it when it is done.

Storm 2

Here is a post with lightning and a one without lightning with just the overcast look. What do you think? I have also removed the boards around the tree.
