Stormy look

NO CA$H

Veteran
I'm trying to make this establishing shot look like its getting ready to storm outside with Magic Bullet. I need the sky to be darker.

Does anyone know any good settings for that look?

If the short film I DP'ed called "Water", the first shot of the house is what I think you are looking for. We overexposed the sky to white so the VFX guys could comp in a CG stormy sky around the edges of the house.

That's how I did it!

CC it and do a composite ( i dont know how to do it but you can replace your sky with some seriously dangerous looking stuff.)

Yeah, your best bet might be to use photoshop on that shot, ca$h. Thats what I would do. Replacing a sky is simple and I rarely use PS.

Or maybe a day for night effect.

Norm, That was a really good short film, nice DP'ing. That first shot is pretty much what I want.

I wish it was summer so it would rain and I could film a real storm.

I'm probably gunna get my friend to do this in After Effects or PS for me.

is this kinda what you want?

i know what u could do, u could bring it into after effects, use vector paint and erase the sky and then layer it with a clip of a cloudy sky, and maybe put a cc on it before so the house is kinda dar too.
