GH2 Stopping light changing while panning.

No matter what i try the light always changes while doing any panning with my GH2,P mode with the AE lOCK on or A mode S or Manual set to any aperture settings,i only have micro four third lenses,is it possible, i would have thought setting an aperture setting would do but not mine if say i set f22 and pan around the picture flashes light and dark depending whats in view.

Previous Panasonic cameras had a feature called Intelligent Exposure, which was used to brighten up the dark areas of your photos. On the GH2 that feature is now called Intelligent Dynamic, and it's supposed to help with clipped highlights, as well. In Intelligent Auto mode this feature is always on, while in the manual modes it's off by default.

Don't have a gh2 but the Intelligent exposure setting would do that on my gh1.

Thanks for the replys,as i said its not only happening in P mode but manual as well,i wonder if ISO is the cause ,i am pretty sure although i usualy set ISO on auto i have tried a setting and it still happened but worth another try, whats the best iso for outdoor filming.thanks.

Lock up all the controls and then work backwards from there until you figure out the reason for the light change. Also you may need consider, that after you push "rec" the display changes a bit, and your actual captured video may not be recording the light shifts.
Also turn off your intelligent exposure, and everything "Auto" for that matter... ISO.
I have noticed the shifting when im shooting, but once I switch over to "M" I dont seem to notice it shifting.
Of course, I often use a manuel lens... which I have full control over the aperture, so the only variable for me becomes the iso and shutter.

M isn't manual - creative movie mode is manual - M has auto ISO

Creative mode was inferred. At this level of conversation I thought we where only operating in the Creative mode realm. (P, A, S, M are all available only in this mode... with full respective control of the other settings)
I cant imagine shooting video with the GH2 in any other "mode." (anyhow doesn't the GH2 default to "P" and only "P" when your shooting in everything else, other then Creative Mode?? I could be wrong, just havent used video out of these other modes much)

Yes when you shoot ALWAYS set the camera on the camera logo with a M next to it. this is the ONLY way to have full control of your image. If you want to change the setting from manual to automatic or s or else, there is a setting in the Q.menu to change that.

I think the answer to flinty's original question is actually a simple setting. Just go to "setup" and select "lcd mode." Take it off auto and select one of the 3 brightness choices. Or don't change it and take solace in knowing that your image isn't really being affected.

My recorded picture was affected as well the monitored one,i always use video with the dial set on M with camera beside it as i presume this is movie mode,i am now finding setting expsure mode on M helps the problem but i am slow at getting the corect settings and on on the move filming which i do mostly i can easily lose an important shot but practice will help me no doubt, one thing i struggle with on manual is in low light,on P mode it was fine with a fast lens but on M even opening up the lens to say f1.7 on the 20mm does not let light in like on P mode is ISO to do with this. Thanks vm for the help
