Ok... here is my situation.

I have the HVX and a few P2 cards. I took the leap and bought a Mac Pro for editing on FCP, but it is not set up yet. I don't have Raylight yet, but I will. I then realized that I can not download to the MacPro except by firewire from the camera or through another computer. So, I bought the Amtron PCI interface P2 reader for a PC I already have that will be in the general area of the Mac.

I know I am getting close to a workable set-up, but what are my options for getting the data from the PC to the Mac? I need a mass storage / working location for the data, but do not know what the best options are. Are there options that can be connected to 2 different computer (and different platforms) at the same time? I don't know if it can be networked or ???.

I should go with a RAID setup - probably more for the accessing speed more than long term storage needs. (I'm not overly concerned with long term storage... my videos will be 5 to 10 minutes long, and I intend to burn a DVD with raw footage for my long term storage. (Are there any better ideas?)) What should I look for in a RAID enclosure? Should I even be looking at RAID enclosures, or something totally different?

I think this is the last part of my setup puzzle. What am I missing?

I'd move it over a network- then you do away with media incompatibility issues. A RAID is good- go for G-Tech or Dulce Systems.

Would I set up the RAID as a network drive??? I'll check into the G-Tech and Dulce as well

I'll also look into the firewire bus powered HDD option.

Am I missing anything else?

- Thanks!!!!
