FEATURE: Standing Firm - A New Feature

Thanks filmman :) I did my best...still busting my butt to get this thing 100% completed, DVD features made, deals with CBA, CBD, etc. vendors, etc.

I'm shooting for national Christian bookstores and even some foreign markets that have contacted me. Very exciting.
 
I've had requests for the film in Egypt, Brazil, England, The Netherlands, etc. Looking for as many foreign distribution options as I can. Word seems to be getting around...very cool :)

US/Canada release looks like it's on track! This is going to be fun to watch! :)

I'm driving to Maryland the week of the 6th in June to get the final sound mix done for the film. Afterwards I'll be getting a completed copy of the film together to send off to a few film festivals, endorsement folks, the Dove foundation for Dove approval, and many other media folks.

Then I'll be finishing up the DVD features and getting the whole package ready for pressing later in July. Very exciting! :)

220 churches now signed up for info on screenings when they're available. Crazy stuff. I can't wait to walk into a store and see this thing on the shelf, that's going to be a thrill.

It's been a long time coming. June is going to be an INSANE month. I have to get the master DVD ready for presses by June 30th, secure my funding to get the initial copies made, shooting my BTS interview in a few days, gotta edit the entire BTS doc, sound mix in Maryland the week of the 6th for two days, finish up some marketing material, get all the contracts done and sent in for various thing...GAH

This is the hardest part of filmmaking. We're all rooting for you. There is much to be learned in the steps you're taking. Please keep us updated about all your success and challenges of this stage also. Marketing is where it all pays off. For me that's the hardest part, because it's so removed from the art of making movies itself.

The credits are being finalized, the behind the scenes videos for the DVD are being created, the subtitles for English/Spanish will be done in a few weeks, the DVD menus are in progress, sound-mix next week in Maryland, and so much more!

My head is spinning with all the emails I need to send, contracts I need to mail out and get back, and all the other things involved in making sure this film is locked and stocked and ready for its August 24th, 2010 release date. Also, those of you waiting on information for church screenings (all 250 of you!) stay tuned...information to come! Logistics of all this is complicated so prayers are appreciated...

If you didn't notice, we recently passed 13,000 fans on Facebook! :D That's an awesome accomplishment. How about we shoot for 15,000 by the end of June? Tomorrow is a special day, it's my birthday. Although it might be a surprise to many, tomorrow is only my 22nd birthday. I started working on Standing Firm when I was 18, that's not crazy is it? We started shooting Standing Firm a year after we started writing on June 5th, 2008. So as you can see, June holds a special place in the history of this film, and it seems fitting that June be the month that most of the work ends.

For the mix we did Stereo. Surround would've cost much more, taken much more time, and really wasn't necessary for a film of this kind. Stereo made more sense... Maybe surround on the next movie :)
