So I think its time that i start looking into some sort of stabilization solution. But my question is, what is there that will support about 15 pound of camera! I have a redrock rails, and my lense is about 10 pounds, but that is exluding the soon to be matte box, and the MicroX flip! So I'm estimating about 15 pounds! Is there anything that will support such wait under 4 grand?? :crybaby:

You will likely need a remote follow focus as well...

Glidecam is great... For a heavy camera rig you will need the vest and arm as well...

yeah i was kinda thinking about the Glidecam 400, but than the vest! ah! that'll knock me up like 2 grand right! Would this work as a vest: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/241312-REG/Glidecam__4000_PRO_Camcorder_Stabilizing.html
It says it supports up to 10 pounds, but mines prob going to be heavier! so will it work for about 14 pounds?
EDIT:
Or i guess i could try for this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/366773-REG/Glidecam_GLSSH_Smooth_Shooter_Support_System.html
And yes mikko mean steadicam like support =) any advice from a steadi guru would be much appreciated =)

Got one of these,

My full rig is almost 25 lbs and the arm flyes it like nothing.
A steal for 800 bucks.

Having a steady rig and beeing a good operator is 2 different things.
I have mine since a while and still practicing.

But I had a pro operator fly that baby and he got great results instantly. So I´m the weak link in the chain.

He said he would revamp it a bit here and there (monitor bracket/battery compartment, cabels into the post, better buckels on the Vest - things like that) but even if you invest an other $200 it´s a great deal.

yeah, and oh boy do i have time to learn. hahah i just think it would be funny going into my film class next year being the only kid that had a stabilizing system =p but i do know that practice makes better (not even perfect, can never have too much practice)
so now for the money... anyone need a 15 year old on a shoot? Come on, cheap labor! =]
