Hey Jim! You bet your a$$ I was scared. Obviously, not for my life for I wasn't BEHIND the van (like you!) but for my CAMERA!!!! My CRANE!!!! My Tripod!!!! oh! and you (of course!) :)

Things are going well on the editing front. I am happier than I thought I would be with the footage!

Car Crane!

Car Crane!

Okay folk! I found new ways to use my new toys!!!

I knew when I bought my crane that I was going to try and use it IN my van. And because this fine crane (the Glidecam Camcrane 100) breaks down into 4 different lengths, I felt that this was more than possible!

What I didn't expect to find out was that the fulcrum head on the crane is SO TALL that my tripod would not be useful. I had to improvise! I was going for the ladders ( :) ) but then I saw that the dolly has a threaded bolt on it!!! And the crane mount screwed right in!!!

The results are wonderful! I get a smooth, balanced "floating" camera that is very stable.

I also found a new use for my rails!!! These VIDLED lights that Charli is letting me borrow are amazing and wonderful to have (hint! hint! j/k)!

Yep, Jason... we're movin' on up! (still got plenty of uses for Pro Gaff, though!)
