Sound-blankets

I ordered 6 on 11/15, received an email on 11/16 saying they would ship next week (this past week) and as far as I can tell, they have not yet shipped. Not feeling real comfortable with them at this time...I would hold off until I see if I actually receive them.

yeah, I was expecting them this week gone too, but they're definitely legit, and I as far as I can tell, they simply were a bit overzealous in putting them online; they simply haven't received them yet.

I spoke to Jeff the other day, and he's hopefull to receive them very soon.
 
My update is this: No blankets, credit card charged, no response to my email asking when I would be receiving them.

anybody receive these yet? i'd like to buy some for a short i'm shooting soon but would like to hear what everyone thinks about them before buying. thanks!
 
Okay, so my sound blankets arrived today (finally). Initial quick impression is they look pretty good, though the white side is a little thin on the cloth, not quite what I expected. I'm hanging them tomorrow in an office "studio" and doing a day of recording demo voice-overs, so I'll let you know how they do in the real world.

great - looking forward to hearing how it goes. i'll likely be buying a few for my next shoot, especially if you're happy with them.
 
Okay, not going to be able to use them today. They have a slight chemical smell so they need to be aired out before locking a poor unsuspecting soul in a room with these blankets hung all around him. Hopefully they will air out sufficiently - or I will launder them.

Thanks Vidled for putting this together and creating a product. I'd really like to know about the smell factor and if they air out or wash out. I'm really sensitive to chemical smells and I don't want to subject any of my interview subjects to something even more uncomfortable. Bad enough having lights and and mike pointing at them. Hard to video a person who is holding their nose.

The reason for my joining your discussion was the folowing: I read the comment that "White side" was "thinner" than you expected. This product is brand new. it was specially produced based on the requirements i had received from MAL ( memeber of this community). If you feel the product is not adequate in some aspects I would appreciate your constructive comments and suggestions.

Hey Jeff, that was my comment about the "thinness" of the white side. It was really just a nit...it is a bit thinner than expected, but certainly not to the point of dissatisfaction. So, a little thicker would be nice, but not if it raises the price.
