Did you download and install the latest driver for your graphics card? Or sometimes roll back to a previous driver?

MBL is really holding down Vegas. Officially, it only supports Vegas Pro 8 (forget about 10, not even 9!). It is not only supported on only the 32-bit Vegas but also Windows Vista 64 or 7 64 are not officially supported. In a nutshell, MBL was designed for Vegas Pro 8 on a 32-bit OS and Red Giant haven't really bothered updating the core. The end result, it's going to be buggy on Vegas Pro 10 on a 64-bit OS. It's a miracle it even works! I have noticed slow downs and crashes and it gets worse with every new version of Vegas Pro, which kind of gives the illusion that SCS are degrading the software. Instead, try getting rid of the MBL liability and Vegas Pro 10 is arguably the fastest and most stable NLE out there.I've never really had a problem with Vegas except for rendering which I found a solution for eventually. However recently I'm having a preview monitor problem. If I load a project or even start a new one (with MBL used in it) the preview monitor will freeze and hang the program. Very irritating. Tried everything I could think of.

Yeah tried that which worked until I rebooted. Sometimes I can get it to work by just clicking individual clips then reverting to a blank part of the timeline and then playing the timeline. It'll then usually be fine 'till I load the project again or reorder the timeline significantly
Is your power supply PSU adequate, and providing stable voltage? I imagine it takes more power to run PCs these days, especially if doubling the workload on a graphics GPU to display to a second monitor. I have a 700W Fatal1ty PSU for my six core and two monitors. Do you have issues using two monitors when NOT using Sony Vegas? If so I would look at your PSU, DVI/video cable connections, etc. Otherwise maybe it is a bug in Vegas.
I dropped into this thread to see if version 10 actually worked properly. guess not.
I'd have to agree with PerroneFord on his points about Vegas's downfall. I was a long time vegas editor (since version 4 at least) and have seen it die a slow death of instability, at least since version 8.1 escaped into the market. The worst thing in video editing is having no confidence in your NLE to get you through large projects of tight deadlines. For this vegas is one big FAIL. I use FCP/AVID when I can, and keep vegas around for web vids.
It's not Vegas' problem. I think it's a third party problem. Vegas is good and competitive with FCP and Avid I think,
Thanks David for responding. I tried the sony yav codec and also just tried to render to WMV V11 and it still blacks out at about 83%-86%...my thoughts were maybe it was a clip but ive already tested that out by rendering each of those clips and they came out fine. I want to re-install but something tells me that the problem is somewhere on the timeline. THank you again Sir.What codec are you rendering to?
I love the Vegas interface; it's the best out there IMO...But the software sucks and Sony doesn't care about it. They'd rather sell TV's. Vegas Pro 10 is basically 9.0 with a service pack; the 64-bit version still spawns 32-bit processes and it's unstable, has no hardware acceleration, and doesn't support AVC-Intra (to name a few drawbacks).
In my opinion, Premiere Pro CS5 is the best. It's not intuitive to use but is stable and fast.
