Sony a7 IV

It may seem like nitpicking, but I’m not seeing any mention anywhere of the very useful feature, found on the a7s III, that displays a red frame around the edges of the camera’s monitor while recording a movie, warning the operator if the camera isn't rolling. Not having such a feature on the a7 III meant sometimes losing shots, and it would be a shame if it’s not included in the a7 IV.

over a decade into stills cameras shooting 'serious' video & this not being a basic feature across all of the mid+ cameras shows how manipulated the market is to arbitrarily differentiate between video & still cameras. What is that,15 minutes of coding to implement letting you turn on & off a **a red dot or border in frame** when recording video?

If that is a wordy way of saying that the feature should be standard on all cameras that shoot video, I'm in total agreement!

Mine rarely leaves my camera in general usage. A lovely lens.

+1. I hear you, I understand that.

If it's not on the camera it's always in the camera bag ready for a call of duty. Used straight on S35 FS7 (1.59 crop) it's a great 120mm interview lens. The two ends giving me a nice totally repeatable 2.5 shot size change. Used with a Speedbooster on S35 it's one of my favorite everything lenses. F2, parfocal, constant aperture along with great bokeh and almost '0' breathing. Along with a lovely look and feel to the image what's not to like. I think it will go well with the A7 iv. It delivered well on the A7 iii.
