So I'm becoming a vintage lens junkie (along with any other lens I can adapt to my T2i) . Looking around at all the info. I've read the bob atkins piece explaining lenses that can be adapted to the T2i but I dont fully understand a couple things. So I'm scouring ebay & craigslist and on ebay, I see a nikon nikkor 50mm f1.4 going for around 80-100$ and then a nikon 50mm 1.4D for around $300 and so on .. I guess what I dont understand is the lettering in all of these different lenses which in turn makes them more expensive but for video, does it matter? By that I mean, since I am using it for video, can I just bypass looking all the D F E by all of these lenses and it would adapt to my T2i with an adapter and that's that or...???
I'll give you another example, on that bobatkins page of lenses he has Yashic FR,FX as being able to adapt to T2i but I found a Yashica ML 50mm 1.2 at a pawn shop and didn't buy it because of the ML not being a FR,FX .. does the ML mean it cant be adapted or because its not a FR,FX lens it could work but is lower quality or..??
Just some examples of my confusion in regards to adapters and my camera (T2i) . I've bought a Contax/Yashica, M42, Olympus OM, & Nikon adapters for my cam and wanna know if I have free reign to just buy lenses or if there are some that wont work based on "Lettering" or any other kind of restriction.
thanks fellas and I hope this makes sense.
