What is the source of this information?Olympus will release a 12mm f/2.0 for the m 4/3 system, to be announced in June.
What is the source of this information?
How can we know that Olympus will be releasing a new lens when it hasn't even been announced yet?
Trashing concurrent sites is unnecessary, also childish. Calm down.Right. So 43rumors prints a rumor that they heard from rumor site digicam-info, which probably prints the rumor that they heard from "mirrorlessrumors" which reprints what they heard from "m43rumors" which reprints a rumor which is a rumor of a rumor which traces all the way back to some kid living in his parents' basement who says "Olympus will produce a 12mm f/2.0" because that kid in his parents' basement doesn't know how to differentiate between how to express a desire, and how to express a fact...
That link ain't nothin' but a rumor. Wish it was legit info, but it isn't. I'll file that one next to the 12-50 f/2.5-3.3 lens rumor, and the 7-14 OIS lens rumor, and the GH2 global shutter rumor, and the 5D Mark III raw mode rumor.

Sorry, just tired of rumors being stated as facts.
If you have an actual factual source, I'm sure we would all be very interested in hearing about it, a 12mm f/2.0 does sound quite appealing.
But when the source that's posted is a rumor site, which flat-out acknowledges that the rumor is only (in their opinion) 61% to 80% likely to even come true, yet it's stated as a fact, I find that bothersome. Don't you? I wasted time trying to track down where this 12mm f/2.0 lens was coming from. I wasted time on various rumor sites, which all seem to always credit their source as another rumor site. I even sat through that 7-minute video, waiting for them to say something about a 12mm f/2.0. And never at any point did anything credible emerge about any such lens.
Which brings me back to the point -- Olympus has announced no such product, and until they do, there is no reason to believe there is any such product.
....Just read the 11mm 1.4 toy lens article.
Hence why I asked for the source. If the manufacturer (who is, by the way, the only entity on the globe that can actually confirm it) had confirmed it, then it becomes legit. But if the only source is a rumor site which is printing a reprint of a rumor they picked up off another site, surely you can see that that's not confirmed at all.I can't blame the original poster for stating the Oly 12mm 2.0 was a fact - it MAY VERY WELL BE CONFIRMED.
Really? In my observing of what these various sites print, I can pretty categorically state that I have observed quite the opposite. I could probably name an arms-length list of things they've proclaimed are true or are coming imminently, whether it's the 5D Mark III or the Raw recording module or the 12-75 or the 12-50 or the OIS 7-14 or the global-shutter GH2 or the "AF200" and the large-sensor Canon video camera... on and on and on. There's rarely anything that they tip off that actually comes into being.most rumors of lenses do come true
