LOL! I always get desert & dessert mixed up. I even second guessed myself on that one, and added the extra S after the fact! :)

Frederick, thanks for the offcer. It's exciting to know that with a good budget, there's litterally a one-stop-shop for all our audio needs ... however, I'm assuming for most, including myself, collaboration for this short film fest won't have extensive budgets, if any, to work with.

My name's Dan Selby... another composer and sound designer here who saw Norm's thread at VI-Control - nice to be here! :)

I'm based near Manchester, UK. I do music and sound design, full-time, for TV, TV and film advertising and video games. I did score a couple of shorts a while back (no features yet) but would definitely like to do some more film work.

There is an easy way to remember this one. You want MORE dessert - so it has more 'S' in it :)



Hey guys, I know this sentiment has been given repeatedly, but let me say it again. It is great how you have all jumped on this opportunity and made yourselves available for these projects. I'm really looking forward to some outstanding scores this time around.

It would be nice to know if any of you also do other audio tasks like sweetening, foley, audio post engineering/mixing/mastering, etc (Please excuse me if I used the wrong terms, but I think you understand what I'm talking about :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) )

OH! Excellent question, Larry! That would be very interesting to know who has talents & abilities in those areas as well.
 
I do. I've done music and post-pro sound on big budget TV ads plus spot fx, foley and full audio treatment (sync-to-picture music, foley, dialogue, worldising and sfx) for video game FMV sequences. Give me a shout for more info.

Doug, thank you very much. You're too kind.

Between shooting and scoring my film, scoring music for Peter Murphy's film, and some music for Kholi I think I'm all booked up.

People still needing music for their hero film should definitely look into Douglas Edward. That is; if he's not too busy. He has a solid education, and tons of knowledge into music theory. Not that those qualities automatically make you a great composer, but he also has heart.

Thanks on the plug but I'm so new to this forum I'd prefer to sit back and watch the competition.
