Smuggler's Ransom- OFFICIAL THREAD

Just finished watching. What a quotable diary. "thats gonna be fun cause we have noooo permission..." "No, I just grew up reading british authors." Haha. But yeah, I enjoyed it, the clip you have showing the guy coming out of the elevator...is that the take you used for the final cut?

hahaha! Yeah, it was a pretty funny one, glad ya liked it!

You know, I have no idea if that's the take we used in the final cut. And obviously it was more of a combination of several shots. The scene is only about 50 sec. in the film, but because I love having lots of angles on action stuff, it took about an hour and a half to shoot.

Gotcha. I'm the same way with action shots. I love getting as much coverage as possible.

UPDATE: I am just waiting on a few more establishing shots that Stephen Brock (also our sound deisgner) is going to shoot next week, in Germany. Then we will have every last shot we should need for the film. Matt's working on the score this afternoon, and we should see (or hear) some stuff by tonight.

Hey BR!

Just watched the NEW trailer, VERY nice! It has Blockbuster written all over it, nice job! The helicopter looks REAL, that's awesome!

The acting looks really good, especially the "HERO," he seems perfect for the role, where did you find that cat? An open casting call?

Good luck man, can't wait to see the completed movie!

Thanks a lot man! Glad you liked it! Well, finding Tony was an interesting story. He is friends with a guy I work with, so I had an "in" there, and he really fell in love with the project. Good things all around!

Looks like we got a neat little new forum for user films. Good stuff Jarred! :) Thanks for that.

UPDATE: I should be getting the final chopper effect renders from Mark tomorrow. I will post something up once I get them. Also, Matt, is finishing the music for the first four scenes, and he'll be done tonight.

Big thanks to Weston who picked up our new Lubenkoff ext. establishing shots! Thanks!

No problem at all!....I like the CC. Are you sure you don't need any higher quality versions?..

That is much better. Now you won't have to use Mariachi music in your movie.

none of the cast or crew (other than Daniel Noa and I) has seen anything yet, except the trailer. I am planning on getting some feedback from a few folks this weekend and take a mostly done cut over for them to see. I've shown several individuals specific scenes and I've had nothing but positive reactions so far! I am looking forward to viewing the full cut myself! :)

For another update/request. I am in need of some better shots of a plane landing at a large airport. The shots I got aren't that great, as we kinda got stopped by the airport police (a DVX on a spiderbrace kinda looks like a rocket launcher) anyway, let me know. Thanks!

Hmmm.....what type of planes. The mansfield lahm airport is not too far from me....its all national guard though. They mostly fly big C130 type carrier planes. Other than that its small private jets. No commercial aircraft.

Probably not. I generally don't do that. We'll see :)

im curious to know your thoughts on why you wouldn't do that? have your actors seen any of the footage besides the trailer?
