haha, thats not really bad at all. I just recently replaced a computer for someone and it was so hard because of all the crap they had on their desk.

Just checked out the directors diaries and enjoyed it. It was great seeing everyone excited about the project. Any chance we'll get to see some more technical stuff, I.E you setting up shots, or taking actual shots? or are you saving most of the footage for when the movie comes out?

Well, we shot some more of us actually making the movie on the other days... sadly we didn't shoot a ton... I was trying desperately to get a BTS shooter who would solely do that, but alas, it did not happen. We'll have interviews and stuff on the DVD though.
 
Well a little is better than none, and either way I'll still be checking out the diaries, looking forward to the next one.

Edited our longest dialogue scene tonight... dialogue is brutal to edit... getting the pace and flow right, and the beats right... it turned out VERY nice though :)
 
Ok... today I am going to focus on editing ALL day... intense. I hope to have if not the entire movie, most of it edited today. I have some scenes left to do, but most of the major ones are done. I have to go back and fine tune some things. If I can finish everything today, that would be awesome. Then I can give it to our composer early and begin working on my color grading.
 
Good luck on getting your editing done today. Just remember, don't rush it, you don't want to end up missing something and then noticing later on when its too late to fix it.
 
Oh yeah, I totally hear ya. Most of the scenes I've been editing over the course of the last few weeks, just have finishing touches on them :)

Pretty far into it. I'm a weird guy when it comes to this. I edit when I make my shot list... and I also capture and edit stuff the night after we shoot. I generally always have the footage in my hard drive each day of shooting. So, I've made a ton of headway. I have like 2 short scenes to edit, and I have to add some establishing shots, and tweak a few things. That's about it.

Cool. Do you go strictly by storyboards, or do you not do that? I know this guy who had drawn 1000+ storyboards, because everything had to be perfect.
 
I do not use storyboards. We compile a shot list, but even that isn't concrete... we generally come up with great ideas on set as well.

I do the exact same thing. I duno if this is how most people edit, but I always edit sequence by sequence based on how I shoot. So I never wait to have all my footage captured before I start editing. I find that its easier to get everything done, and then once I go to put everything together all I really need to do is make little tweaks. And also by editing right after shooting I can right away see if theres anything I need to re-shoot or whatnot.
 
Taking a break. Finished editing the most emotionally intense scene of the film. Just have a few TINY scenes to edit. Mainly just these three car scenes of when they're driving to a place.
 
Ok, the movie is edited. I'll now wait on Daniel to watch everything (he went back to school in VA so we do all the work online now) and when he approves it's off to scoring and effects!
 
Actually. I have an interesting way of editing certain scenes. I method edit in a sense. I try to put myself in a certain mental state, to "feel" the edit. I listen to certain music, watch certain movies, think about specific experiences in life. I don't know if many editors do this, but I do. I also do that before I shoot certain scenes. To answer the question, yes, I did cry today, once. I guess I just got teary eyed, but it was essentially crying.
