GH2 Sigma 30mm F1.4 Nikon fit adapter ??

Hi all . . . first post . .

I'v graduated over time from the GH! to GH2 (Can't even begin to express the amount of thanks to the forum, Vitaliy, lpowell and others - what an absolute gem of a forum)

I'v sort of been loitering with intent for a while, a bit hesitant to mix it with the wealth of talent on-board here

I'v been offered a Sigma 30mm F1.4 Nikon fit lens. The problem being, I can't locate on the net/Ebay etc any adapters for this lens with the Nikon fit. Canon yes, but not Nikon. Can anyone help ?
Not having manual aperture adjustment on the lens, I don't want to buy and find no adapter available !

Also, at least two sources have intimated a question of quality control with these Sigma lenses. Does anyoneone concur ? would this make the Samyang flavour of these a better bet ? Anyone have an alternative at 30mm ? The Canon FD 50mm f1.4 I'v used in the past is really great for the money, but I feel is a little too tight in many locations I'v found myself in.

Thanks for any advise

First post here as well and my name is John. :)
The Sigma 30mm renders very nicely. The QC problems are mostly from the finish wearing off and AF inaccuracy. Rainbow imaging makes a "G" type adapter but from what I've heard from colleagues is that it is cumbersome to use. I'm sure the Samyang would be much better to manually focus and adjust aperture. Another option might be one of the legacy 35mm F2s. I just received my GH2 as well and am excited to get the ball rolling.

Hi j Thanks for your reply. I'v since found out that the lens has an F mount. I'v looked and found adapters, but non that have aperture control ? Autofocus is'nt an issue, it will be manual all the way. It's just I'v heard nightmares about front/back focusiing and decentreing, fringing etc . . basically quality control issues on the Sigma production line ?

I'v had my GH2 a while, and also have a HMC151 and HS900, which I mix and match with. Panasonic - big thumbs up :)

Here's the one I was talking about.

I actually really like the Sigma line. I've owned a few 30mms, a few 50mms, and a few 70-200s. Quality control may not be as good as Nikon but equivalents are 2-5X as much. I can't say that I would enjoy using the 30mm on a GH2 but other than the Samyang it's either at least a stop slower or mucho $$$.
