Sigma 10-20 f 4-5.6

I had a Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 lens that I used to shoot panorama images for real estate. Usually all shots were stills shot at f8 on a pano head and stitched together to make a 360 view image.

Anyway, I had a chance to use a Canon 7D yesterday, and shot inside a room about 10 feet by 12 feet, and I was surprised that I could see both walls, with little distortion. I have not used the Tamaron lens many suggest, but after seeing the results of this lens, I likely would use it.

Yes it is slow, but even at f5.6 and 3200 iso, I was able to get a decent image (compared to what I am use to with video cameras) under house bulbs.

I feel anything I lit would be fine.

How does focussing work on this Tamron and Sigma lenses, is focus ring connected to lens directly or are they servo controlled and can you spin ring past lens stops? Also do these Tamron and Sigma lenses have IS?
