Should I use the 50mm or 18-55mm for a pool tournament am recording.
Sure, but the 18-55 at f/3.5 (18mm) would probably be enough. I took that in a car while driving downtown:you'll probably be starving for light, which means fast 50mm prime
The specs: Iso 2500, 1/50, f/3.5 at 18mm (roughly 29mm converted). As I said, I'm pretty sure it would be enough with the 18-55mm. It's not like if the whole place would be in a living room. And not like if the place would be lit with a 60w bulb neither...That's a tough question. On an APS-C based Canon that 50mm will be like an 80mm.
For sure. The 18-55mm gives enough versatility. I'd bring the 50mm f/1.8 too, maybe for close-ups and transitions videos/shots. That would give a nice touch. But I'd shoot mainly using the 18-55mm.Definitely will need wider than a 50 to cover that.
