I'm waiting on some pictures and an actuation count. The seller is asking $550 shipped, is this a good deal? What other sorts of questions should I be asking?

I would really appreciate your input as this is the best deal I have seen on one to date!

I sold my Rebel XSi (2 stages behind the T2i) for $435 the other day (shipping included). My package only had: 1 battery, 18-55 kit lens, 8gb SDHC card, camera body, and a case.

I would say that you have found a relatively good deal! If it's over CraigsList, you might want to be careful when picking it up (take someone with you) and also check the camera and lens over for scratches. It you're buying it on eBay, then you shouldn't have as many problems. Good luck!

Its through ebay actually, I thought there would be more of an issue there than through craigslist. What questions should I ask or make them admit to so I know I'm not getting gypped.

yikes. Make sure there's a good return policy- anyone willing to sell their gear that cheap would make me nervous! That's a STEAL- someone here was offered $650 for their used T2i body only!

How do you know the camera is in good working order? Unlike vintage lenses, cameras don't necessarily retain their value, and a damaged camera without warranty is not something you want to pay $435 for!

I sold mine a couple weeks ago for $680. Exact same package (same lens) as above except for the grip. That's a good deal.

My camera wasn't damaged *tear. Haha.

Back on topic... if it's on eBay and it isn't a buy it now item, I'm sure the price will shoot up pretty quickly. My camera didn't go for very much because people a camera that also shoots HD video.

The type of threads that are made here makes no sense.....

T2i Body only sells for $650, if it is used at the LEAST someone would sell it for would be $500-$550 range. Now the seller is giving you a $100 lens, $100+ battery grip, $30 memory card, $80+ batteries all for free?

I do think that the T2i's should start coming it at around $550 - haha matches the name. In all reality, it bugs me to no end to see that there are still people selling old T1i's and junk for $800 - sure, a 18Mp RAW stills camera is a decent tool, but really, it's worth at most around $300, you can get an Olympus Pen for cheaper than $500 and it does more than the T1i and any camera before it. The T2i is also worth around $300, but since it has "video mode" + 24P + 1080P (*cough*really just 640P*cough*), it indeed raises the bar a good $200 or so. Sure, everyone wants to make money off rich fools who have no clue about what a T1i or such can't do, but if you meet a teenager who's desperate to own his first camera that can do some sort of easy filmmaking, be a bit nice and sell your T2i for $550. And don't even begin to sell him a T1i or anything below that model for above $200, that's just trickery.

I sold my 550D in Nov for $600 in perfect conditioned with view screen protector, 2 batteries, 18-55mm kit lens and 4 months left on the dealer warranty. The price is dropping fast. Deals to be had. ( No SD card and sorry I swiped the UV filter.)

This is over the internet, he has a lot of vouchers as a seller. He send me a digital receipt for 850, he says he is selling it so cheap because they won't allow him to return it which makes sense. He sent me a screen cap of the actuation count which is under 100 and a link to the only thing he has filmed with it. It checks out, I'm just waiting on non iphone pictures.

I would have to agree that a lot of the used sales I have seen are for close to retail, this camera is in better condition then those and is the cheapest price. I will probably buy it this weekend.
