Short film trailer

Here's a link to a short film I've been working on for a little bit now using the Gh1 and the Gh13's 24p patch. Everyone, including the pixel peepers, can freely chime in with your opinion. Just a teaser anyway. Not sure what's up with the youtube thumbnail. Looks awful.

Looks really good, well shot... The only thing bothering me is the vertical colored banding on the faces in the first few shots... (the banding is also visible in the poster frame of the vimeo clip above his eyebrow)

Some good looking shots. A little bit of constructive critique if I may..The edit didn't really say anything about the story ( I don't know if that's how you intended it? ), it seems like there are some good performances, but without any dialogue it's hard to tell.

Anyway, it leaves you wanting to see more, so works that way. Best of luck.

yep, first time really lighting and some of the shots were a bit underexposed leading to banding. Gh1 has its moments where it either shines or falls short. Thanks for looking.

It was just to get something out. Just a teaser. It was mainly for the cast and crew who's been waiting for a little stuff to show their friends and I just cut something together. I don't even know to really start when cutting an actual trailer. thanks for watching.

Not bad. There's some good shots in there. I wouldn't call it a teaser. Teasers are really short trailers that give you an intro to what the movie is about. This doesn't do that. I'd just call it a collage of shorts or a really short music video.

What I do when I cut trailers is decide what I want to tell the audience what the movie is about. Start with your theme and your plot. Choose the shots and lines of dialog from the film that convey that, but don't give away too much. Put them in order, spread them out, and put really interesting moments and shots around and between them. Then re-edit, and re-edit, and re-edit, and so on until you feel you've got it right. And always ask people you trust who will give you honest feedback and don't know the film at all to watch it and give you feedback. Have them tell you what they think it's about. If they get it right, then you did right with trailer most likely.
