Is there a CHEAP way to protect my camera when shooting in the rain?

And, is there a cheap underwater housing for the T2i?

I run a rod off of my rail system and gaff tape an umbrella to it. :D

There are underwater housings for SLRs that are like plastic bank bags that are like $300. Can't personally attest to their effectiveness.

I asked about it at the camera dealer when I picked up my 550D. They said there was one that was rated for a few meters and not too expensive. I'll try to find more info about the manufacturer and links but here is what they look like.
The one on the left is for a G11 and the price is about $300. On the right is one for the 5D / 7D, but no price quote. They also make bag type covers which are very cheap for point & shoot cams that look to be under $50. I'll look into them and post what I can find for a 550D.

Here is a bag type for a DSLR. I don't know what camera this one is made for but the price is under $150. There are out there. Actually plastic and gaffers tape will get you through the rain for a few bucks. I plan to go rafting with mine and that get's messy.

I had my 7D wrapped in a plastic bag with gaff tape securing it while on a matthew's car mount. That little plastic bag kept it dry.

Don't go with the budget option on underwater housing. If you have any question at all about its effectiveness, don't use it.
